I'm writing this review after a year and a bit of having the bag. the bag is holding up great and shows no signs of slowing down.
the zippers do sometimes get jammed but it's easy to un-jam.
there is plenty of room for a lot of stuff. It is also very easy to clean
it's not so comfortable on the back so I don't recommend for walks but going class to class it's no problem.
Over all I highly recommended!

My daughter asked for a Jansport bag and this is the one I purchased for her. It has the laptop sleeve pocket as well as the main pocket area that is larger for all the books and stuff she has to carry. It is a LOT lighter than the previous backpack she had that was similar, which is GREAT as it's not good for growing kids to carry so much weight all day long.
I had a Jansport when I was in high school and they last a long time. It's a classic and great quality!

If this backpack had cost me $30, I would be giving it a 5-star rating. However, these backpacks have been getting more and more expensive over the past few years, and the quality seems to be lacking these days. The material is very nice and the pockets work great, but if you use public transportation and get caught in the rain from time to time, you'll be replacing this backpack each year. The zippers are annoying- the strips of fabric that cover the zipper tracks do nothing to repel rain and only serve to jam the zipper pulls and eventually break the zippers.

Get a jansport backpack if you like the style, but add on a can of scotch guard to use inside and out before using it as your daily backpack. I have gone through three or four of these over the past three years and have since started using a proper waterproof rucksack when not trying to look stylish.
