The Plugable USB 3.0 Universal Laptop Horizontal Docking Station for Windows, Mac, and ChromeOS (UD-3900H) allows you to add dual monitors, and connect your peripherals, all through a single cable back to your laptop. Quickly come and go from your desk with ease. By connecting one cable to your laptop, you gain 11 extra ports of connectivity, making it easier to do more work in less time.

Power users with dual monitors: The UD-3900H is the dock you need to maximize your productivity and your workspace. Great for business uses such as email, web applications, Microsoft office, and more. Featuring a vertical design, you can easily slip this dock between your monitors and save valuable desk space.

Note: The UD-3900H will not charge your laptop and will need your external charger to provide power to your system. The UD-3900H has one HDMI port and one DVI port and we include both a DVI to VGA adapter and a DVI to HDMI adapter if needed (not compatible with DisplayPort displays). This docking station also includes both USB 3.0 and USB-C cables for compatibility with the widest range of systems.

Compatibility

Monitor Compatibility	Supports two high-resolution monitors up to 1920x1200 @ 60Hz. Compatible with HDMI DVI and VGA displays. Conversion to Dual-Link DVI (DL-DVI) is not supported. DisplayPort displays are not supported.
Software Compatibility	DisplayLink is a flexible and versatile technology that’s great for most users’ workflow. But there are a few scenarios where it’s not the right fit such as gaming and HDCP (copy-protected) content playback from Blu-ray/Netflix/Prime/iTunes/Hulu/etc.
Power and Charging	This dock does not provide power to the connected laptop or tablet—the laptop will still require a separate charger.It cannot control the power of the laptop.

Great budget universal dock

A universal docking station will never be as good as a manufacturer's docking station for several reasons.
That being said, for a universal docking station that will work regardless of brand, it is still pretty handy.
This is a solid 4 to 4.5 star product despite the list of minor cons below.
Will update below review if any problems arise later.

PROS:
+ Cost. Brand specific docks can be 2 to 3 times the cost of this dock.
+ Slim. It looks like this comes in vertical and horizontal models (I chose horizontal)
+ Easy to set up if you're technically savvy in any capacity
+ Use with any number of devices in your home at a single station, which is exactly what mine is being used for (Home dual monitor work station which now can have work and home laptops swapped out.)

CONS: (these are minor, but could be a major inconvenience depending on your scenario)
- Requires driver installation (which isn't listed in the instructions) but is easy enough to locate from their website.
- **Oversight: you MUST have administrative rights on the device. Normally this isn't an issue unless, for example, you are issued a laptop for work but must contact your IT department to allow the drivers to be installed locally. I purchased this for my wife who ran into the same issue, and luckily their policy allowed them to install the drivers on her completely locked down machine.
- Can't charge laptop through the dock.
- Laptop requires independent power, it's one more power cord to have to route and cause clutter.
- Can't power on from dock if laptop is shutdown (have to open, power on, shut lid which can cause additional wear and tear)
- Because it isn't a manufacturer dock, it takes up a little more room since it's not designed for the device to nestle in/on the dock.
- USB to device connector (USB 3.0 and Type C to laptop) is really short and may limit where you can place your dock VS where the port(s) are on your laptop, though you can always buy longer cables to replace the provided ones.
- Even with the provided adapters you may still find yourself not able to use one of your monitors without additional adapters (Specifically Display Port). The best monitor solution you could hope for is if both of your monitors have HDMI and DVI options so you can plug directly into the dock without the need for adapters (included or not).

I bought this to simplify my life as far as switching between work and home laptops. This unit is great. Allows me to simply unplug my personal laptop from my setup and slot my work laptop right into place. Bonus I had was my power adapters for both laptops were interchangeable. unplug 2 cables and swap and plug them back in. Couldn't be easier.

I'm using this to run an old school AOC 21 inch lcd monitor with VGA, and a mounted 15.6 portable lcd. It also gives me plenty of USB ports for my external hard drives, mouse, keyboard, etc. The integrated Ethernet and sound output are also great for taking full advantage of my Fiber connection and lag free audio for movies and videos. All in one connection point.

Only hiccup is occasionally when I go to wake up my machine after its been sitting a while (its on all the time, 6 second boot up is still to long lol) only the laptop comeback up and the docking station doesn't respond. I don't know if that's a sleep function on the unit or my laptop waking up confused. But a quick unplug and replug bring it all back to life in no time flat.

The dock does exactly what its supposed to do and is easy to install if you follow the instructions. After about 20 months several of the USB ports started to fail and my peripherals no longer worked. I followed the company's online suggestions which did not help. Then I noticed it was still under warranty (yes, a 2 year warranty!) and wrote to pluggable. They responded immediately and after some more diagnosis they said it was malfunctioning and sent me a new unit free which also arrived promptly. The new unit works great, like the old one did at first. I would pay more for things that are built well and to have this kind of customer support behind a product is rare and so appreciated. Dans cette configuration, l'affichage sur les moniteurs est limité à du Full-HD, ce qui correspond aux caractéristiques de mes moniteurs.
J'utilise également un boitier externe ORICO HDD Docking Station (6619S3) pour des disques 3,5" et 2,5".
