NITRO Cool Tech - Intelligent Fan Control III

With the SAPPHIRE NITRO Gaming Series cards’ Intelligent Fan Control III, the fan starts precisely at 54 degrees Celsius to smartly balance performance against fan noise.

    freeflow

    NITRO Free Flow

We looked at the traditional axial fan design system, and found that the way it circulates the hot air back to the fan inlet resulted in a higher temperature over time. With NITRO Free Flow we redesigned the airflow of the entire cooler and board, so that the hot air is expelled through the system fan instead, rapidly dissipating heat.

    Quick Connect Fan System

If there’s a fan problem, you don’t have to return the entire card. SAPPHIRE or our channel partners will send out a replacement fan directly to you! All the SAPPHIRE NITRO + Radeon RX590 fans use our Quick Connect system. That means they’re easy to remove, clean and replace, with just one screw holding them securely in place.

    It does the job but...
I’m gonna start off by saying that this card is well worth the money you pay for it. If you’re playing in 1080P then this card will get you 60FPS in most games maxed out or with tweaked settings. You can overclock it but mine did not overclock very well at all. In addition to that I was expecting more performance since this is a Polaris refresh. I had a Asus Strix RX480 in a previous system I built a couple years ago that out performed this card by a long shot on stock setting before any overclocks were applied. All in all it’s a great card for 1080P gaming at 60FPS and honestly a great value at the price, I was just personally expecting more. Also if you have a blue themed system like it do then this card looks great. That’s the main reason I chose this one over others. In addition the backplate looks good too.
    Thank you for your feedback

Okay, I have had her for about a year now, and let me tell you... I've never been so happy. I recently discovered that 1440p runs better (even on my 1080p native panels). It can run anything on ultra and tbh, you truly don't even need to worry about OC. Sapphire TRIX is the greatest thing to happen, so if you want OC, us TRIX. And the new Radeon 2020 software is super easy to use! Easily adjust game profiles and even global profiles as well as display settings. Another thing, the card is simply beautiful. It's heavy too. RGB makes the sapphire POP and gives it a sinister look if you choose the right color. Overall, very please with the performance and beauty of this card. Oh yeah! It has a back plate too! Beat that NVIDIA! Just AMD being amazing. Also, please don't be alarmed if you see the fans not spinning. Fans automatically turn off when the card is below a certain temperature.

SOOOOOoooo, I Installed the "Sapphire Radeon Nitro+ RX 590 8GB GDDR5" into my old 2010, 5,1 MacPro (Silver cheese grater) and it works great! EXCELLENT for osMAC Mojave and FCPX/Compressor, BUT DOES NOT WORK WITH THE VERY OLD SNOW LEOPARD OSX! I have my old MacPro as a Dual Boot, Snow Leopard for editing with FCP7 and newest osMAC for Apple iPhone/iPad/iPod touch/Apple TV/Watch/Mac development! With this card I can only now boot into the newest osMAC for App Dev! No really big deal, I have a second MacPro which I'll start using for old Snow Leopard / FCP7 edit work.

I do plan to get the Samsung Electronics LC49HG90DMNXZA CHG90 Series Curved 49-Inch, which will be perfect companion for this card and editing!

This GPU is Excellent for using with FCPX and Compressor (my 45 minute renders in Compressor, now take 7 minutes).... BUT... my main work system is using that same MacPro (dual boot) and the very old Snow Leopard and FCP7, I cut thousands of shows each year for ROKU Streaming, Netflix, VOD, YouTube and etc. using Snow Leopard and FCP7 and the old Compressor with does MPEG1 (my clients need this!). The 2 most important things I do in FCP7, which no longer works in osMAC 10.14, is I export the Marker Lists and create timing sheets and the old Compressor exports MPEG1, the new Compressor does not.... these 2 features are critical for my clients.

When I boot in the newest osMAC 10.14.5 Mojave, it's very fast, everything is faster, the PHOTO App, Web Browsing and in particular 4K and 360/VR Video renders in FCPX!!! BUT when I try to boot into Snow Leopard, it just sits there, black screens.. nothing! Too bad....

I'm a Producer/Editor, Inventor, Engineer and expert with Mac (and PC's) for FILM/TV Production and Post.

Replaced a Radeon RX 460 that I spilled water on. Running it with a Core i7-6700 and 16GB DDR4 RAM. I'm not a super serious gamer but it absolutely crushes Rocket League. Got Borderlands 3 free with it and it benchmarks average 44 FPS at Ultra quality, DirectX 11, when overclocked slightly, still above 40 FPS running no OC. Gets nearly 90 FPS at medium quality. I didn't see the temp exceed 75C (case open). 500W power supply seems to be enough to run that, 2 SSDs and a hard drive.

I don't find the fans loud at all. I can barely perceive them over my case fan. The card is substantial in your hands, looks built very well, not floppy in the case even though I only got one screw securing it. I personally like the blue even though I have a red motherboard - I'm not really one for aesthetics though. I was going to get a 580 but for $20 extra I figured I might as well future proof myself a little bit longer.

It needs 1x 8-pin (2x4) and 1x 6-pin (2x3) for power. I like that it doesn't have the annoying 4-pin connector for the fans that is easy to forget to plug in.
Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2019
The card is a good value. It works well in a MacPro 2010 midyear. It is quiet. It has a problem, in that it is too close to the 2nd slot. A card can not be plugged into the 2nd slot and this would appear to be because the video card is wider than the PCI spec. One can put in a 2 inch flexible PCI-E Express X16 Riser Extend Card and plug a card off to the side of the 2nd slot but this is a (dangerous) kludge. The reason one might need to do this is because the first two slots in a MacPro 2010 are 16 lanes, the other two are 4 lanes.

For the MacPro 2010 one will need a 8-pin to dual 6-pin mini power connector. There are YouTube videos showing the needed connections.

As to performance, GeekBench 5 for a MacPro (Mid 2010) running OSX 13.6 gives the card a "11133 OpenCL score." That rating is with the card's switch in the normal mode.

(Update 11/21/2019) I upgraded from OSX 13.6 to OSX 14.6 and the score went from 11133 to 47674. OSX 14.6 is optimized for OpenCL

FYI you won't be able to see the Mac boot up since this is a PC card. I have "heard" you can see the progress bars in some upgrades. I upgraded the firmware and OS using a different bare metal card that showed the gray screen.

All-in-all as a bare metal card it works well, is within 2010 power PCI specs the and allows machine to run 10.14.

Got this to pair with an i5-4690k @ 4.7 Ghz. Its an excellent choice for an older midrange CPU like that - fairly well balanced. So far I've only tried it with Fallout 4, Assassin's Creed Odyssey and World of Warcraft. In all three games I had to turn down a setting or two to keep close to 60 FPS at all times, but they still end up being "very high" on a 1920x1200 monitor. The card runs very cool - in my well ventilated case it did not pass 65C in gaming. Very quiet as well - the fans don't even spin until the card is in 3D mode. The card is quite nice looking as well with a light blue plastic fan shroud and blue and white metal backplate and LED fans and Sapphire logo. The only con I can see is the high power consumption while gaming, but I only game an hour or two a day, so its no big deal. All in all I'm quite pleased with it.

L'ho presa in sostituzione di una RX 480 credendo fosse migliore ma sbagliavo, la qualità grafica è rimasta invariata rispetto a quella precedente. 200 euro. Spero solo che duri abbastanza perché non puoi fare il reso.

First, I ordered the card and it just so happened to be delivered on a day nobody was home - didn't realize this until the day of delivery. Called Amazon support and requested they leave the package on rear porch (didn't want to have a $400 package sitting on front porch). The customer was super helpful and incredibly supportive. They tracked the package and made sure the delivery person knew to leave the package on the back porch right where I found it - thanks for the awesome service Amazon.

Now about the card: It is not a super high-end video card and I am no fan of AMD but it is capable and works extremely well. For those of you out there building Hackintosh systems, it worked right out of the box with no need to fiddle. It is quiet and handles ultra high graphic setting on most games. Stellar performance in FCPX.

Was worried I'd get a bad or previously used card but everything checked out fine. Next time I make a build I feel much more secure getting my hardware on Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tarjeta decente para jugar videojuegos en configuraciones altas.

The Sapphire Nitro+ RX 590 was installed on my Auros B450M motherboard under Linux Mint 20 and it works fantastic...
This is the perfect choice for those planning on using Ubuntu or linux Mint with a 5.x.x.x kernel, because of the native AMDgpu drivers in the kernel work great...
