I bought this to replace a JBL Charge 3 that I take on the river. It is a bit louder with overall volume but has a ton more bass even without the bass boost enabled. The waterproofing works well. It's much better quality than earlier Anker speakers that would sound muffled when they got a little wet. This one will plunge under a rapid and sound perfectly normal when it comes out the other side.
I listen to a lot of bass heavy music, EDM, rap and etc and it sounds great for it's size. The only negative for me is I thought the battery would be a little better. At 70% volume, bass boost off, and lights off. I get around 6-7hrs. I know the 18 hours is assuming 50% volume and content that isn't as bass heavy but I was hoping for at least 8-10 hours. If I turn the lights on it's closer to 4-5hours. I bought a battery pack with an AC port to help offset this when traveling but it's still disappointing.
Overall it sounds great for the price(much louder and more bass than the Charge 3 or JBL Xtreme.) If you've got a way to plug it in or recharge between uses I highly recommend it, just don't expect it to last all day if you play up tempo bass heavy music.

Great company, poor product
When I buy speakers, I always buy Ultimate Ears. But when I wanted something bigger, I decided to try another brand I trust, Anker (maker of soundcore). I own 15+ Anker products, all of which I love. But with this speaker, to say the least, I was extremely underwhelmed. The audio quality sounds muffled, and the bottom speaker is producing no audio. For $75, I’d accept it. But at a $150 price point, I’m very disappointed in a brand I trusted. The only reason I give two stars over one are the lights and the loudness. The speaker gets very loud, which I like (even with one speaker not working), and the lights provide a cool effect.Unless anything changes, I will be returning this product.UPDATEI raised my review up to three stars for their customer support. While I was disappointed with the speaker, they helped me out, and helped me find a good deal on a new speaker in exchange.
