Star Wars Battlefront 2 has really come a long way since launch. I never personally played during the initial launch period. But almost everyone had seen the news and understood what it was like. This game had some real shining bright spots it needed to take advantage of. And with time the Devs have eventually made it near perfect.

The gameplay itself is tight and the shooting mechanics are fantastic. It was actually a bit of a challenge to learn even for someone who’s above average at FPS genre games. The look, feel and sound of the blasters are amazing. The only negative is that there aren’t many to play with. But you won’t tire of them easily.

The gameplay, maps and character models capture the feel of Modern Star Wars perfectly. For any real fan of Star Wars, it’s hard not to get excited when you’re a Death Trooper rushing through the hangar on Yavin 4 and wiping out Rebels.

There’s a variety of game modes to play through, but by far the best are Galactic Assault and Capital Supremacy. The latter captured the feel of the early Battlefront games very well, and Galactic Assault is a fun classic Battlefield mode incorporated into the game well. Single player is still a little lacking even after the epilogue was added. But it’s worth taking the time to play through if you’d like a better understanding of some more recent canon without reading any books.

Overall, if you wanted to give this game a chance, now is the time. The initial launch is far removed from our minds and this game now has a dedicated player base. I highly recommend it for any Star Wars fun or even someone just looking for a different type of FPS. 10/10 purchase easily.

The campaign is very well written, very well acted and does a great job tying up lose ends showing events between return of the jedi and force awakens. the campaign missions are kind of short and simple, essentially being a tutorial for using the different weapons and vehicles and whatnots for multiplayer or arcade modes.
Heroes are kind annoying to use, mainly because you are stuck in third person when playing heroes, jedi heroes are surpisiingly "squishy" in some cases (meaning they are kind of weak).
Starfighter combat is awesome but there are a few exceptions, the Falcon is difficult to maneuver but considereing it's size and bulk on the screen it's understandable. Tie fighter combat is excellent, that ship can turn on a dime with room to spare!
The story did an amazing job tying itself into the movies without being pretentious about it. the epilogue missions did an excellent job explaining about the origins of the first order and giving you perspective on just how massive the order is and how quickly it rose to power and the ending tied up all the necessary loose ends while leaving it open for a continuation of the story for the main characters. I give this a max rating because I went into this game purely for the story and I was very happy with it. I have not played any of the multiplayer content yet, and look forward to grinding the arcade mode.
If you don't buy this title, I HIGHLY recommend at least renting it or youtubing the story. It is worth it.

At its launch Battlefront 2 wasnt good. It was full of micro transactions and you basically had to pay to win. Now, the game is amazing. Progression system is all redone. No microtransactions at all and loot crates are now free and only contain cosmetic peices for troopers.
Online multiplayer is tons of fun and the Campaign is also pretty nice, but will never beat the 2005 Battlefront 2 campaign.
Battlefront 2 is full of fun game modes that Battlefront 2015 was lacking. Battlefront 2015 is still fun, but 2 has a lot more going for it. It has Clone Wars, Galactic Civil war, and The sequel Era. SWBF2015 only had Galactic civil war (still buy that too cause online is tons of fun)
Battlefront 2 was a pretty crappy game, but now it is worth buying and I think you should check it out.

Initially, EA was going to make this game a "pay to win" type of game. For the first week, some people were shelling out a lot of money to unlock all of the characters. After the public outcry, EA changed this policy and is no longer allowing for this. In my opinion, was it a bit shady that EA did this? Absolutely, especially when other games such as COD do not do anything like this; COD charges money for a season pass which allows the players to get downloadable content (DLC) which basically consists of new maps for the multiplayer component of the game (the reason everyone gets the first person shoots), but it doesn't allow a person to shell out money in order to get an edge in the game. Now, personally, I don't think that buying of characters actually gave anyone a real edge. First of all, you have to be good enough to even earn up enough points in each game to even use the higher level characters in a match. The characters that were locked are as follows: Darth Vader (good character to use), Luke Skywalker (good character to use), Chewbacca (relatively weak compared to other major characters), Princess Leia (the same as Chewbacca), the Emperor (relatively weak character) and the new character from the campaign portion of the game (I forget her name.) I myself never shelled out any money for the game other than the basic game. I have unlocked Darth Vader as that is the only one that I wanted to use (you can play all of the locked heroes in the Arcade component of the game for free, which I recommend so as to get a feel for the characters and which ones you actually like to play. Many of the heroes that are unlocked from the get-go are actually some of the strongest heroes i.e. Ray, Kylo Ren, Darth Maul, Bobba Fett, Bossk. Now, the thing that I dislike about the game is how long it takes to level up characters in contrast to other first-person shooters......it takes forever and that is not something that one could initially buy their way into. The good thing about the game is that the gameplay is awesome and the graphics are second to none. There are a ton of multiplayer options that are amazing such as massive land and space battles. The only downside is that the game is sometimes glitchy; my character will get stuck in a place and I have to go to a menu and respawn or wait until someone kills my character. The game takes forever to load, however, I guess that that is understandable when it is setting up matches with roughly 40 players that land and aerial combat components. The game is awesome. I am sure that the glitches will get fixed. Have fun, and don't believe all of the naysayers. I never ponied up extra money for this game and it is rare if I am not in at least the top 25% after each match, and a handful of times I have been in the top five and even the top place (this is out of up to 40 players.) Best of luck.
