 Listen, if you like The Surge or any of the SoulBorne type of games, you will most likely enjoy this one. The game improves on the last one by opening up the areas a bit and you are outside more. Things aren't as closed off as the 1st game. Visually it looks really great at times the combat is fun, especially being able to sever limbs to create armor and upgrades. The one area that is has an issue with is Screen Tearing. I am playing it on the One X and its a lot. It can be a little distracting at times but I would say it doesn't completely ruin the experience. I am hopeful that a patch will be released to address this issue as well as some of the pop-in I am seeing while loading up the game. Other than that, its a solid buy from me.

Around 20-hours in - it has it's pluses and minuses; overall, I enjoyed the prequel more, but time will tell. If you liked The Surge, you'll like this. Just read up about the changes beforehand.

Hmmmm... Well, you try to understand and get a feel of where the developers were headed when they created a combat system like the combat system in surge 2, and I cannot for the life of me figure why they would do this to players.

Puzzling and confusing combat systems don't make a game epic or hardcore. It creates a pattern, an all too familiar pattern where players simply give up on playing your game, and never look forward to playing the next boss, or the next boss, and then the next boss after that other boss.

GOSH! I was so pumped up, and I was really enjoying myself in this game, until I hit a brick wall with the bosses, and the games combat system!

Should a combat system be easy? NO!
Should a combat system require 3 scholars, a college professor, and a little bit of unfortunate luck, just to defeat (even one) boss? OH, GOD, NO!
Players would end up returning, deleting, or simply discontinue playing your games, all out of pure frustration!

As a player, I can only continue to play a game when it gives me a fair balance of difficulty, and a fair balance of combat, and not a game that has a combat system that is impossible to figure out, and objectives that are next to impossible to defeat.
My excitement for this game was short-lived.

When you develop a video game, pleaseeeeee create a combat system for people of all ages and people of all backgrounds.
Not everyone can slay a boss with 85 moves that MUST be timed just right, and I'm pretty sure not everyone out there wants to play a game like that.
