LISTED AS NEW, BUT ACTUALLT USED. DO NOT BUY FROM SELLER.

LISTED AS NEW, BUT ACTUALLT USED. DO NOT BUY FROM SELLER.
(TLDR at end)I want to start this by saying sorry for the length of this, I wanted to go into detail a bit in the hopes of helping readers learn some of the ways to check their products (from any seller, not just this one) to make sure they are getting what they ordered.I worked in a video game store for over 5 years, so I have a lot of experience with how headsets are packaged and sold and how their contents are packed. I even received this exact model headset for free from Turtle Beach before, so I know how it comes new in the box. This headset I received today from this seller is not new.First, since this box does not have a flap that has the standard insert to keep it closed it would either be sealed with a transparent sticker or have a plastic wrap to keep it closed. This box arrived with neither, instead coming with 2 white reseal stickers. Those stickers are not standard to factory packaged items and are typically used by third parties or refurbishment centers (see 1st picture).Second, the cables. No matter what item it is, if it's from the manufacturer the cables that come with the item will always be wound either in a neat circular wind or folded like an elongaged oval with a tie wrap. This ensures that it stays neat and presentable when it is initially opened. The cables with this headset were neither, just clearly folded and shoved into the box with the detachable mic (see 3rd picture).Third, this headset has removeable ear pieces so the user can customize it. Those removeable pieces are reflective plastic, and because of the reflectiveness they come with a thin plastic film to protect them from scratches, the kind that you peel off. This headset did not have those and one side actually had faint scratches on the plastic (see 4th picture).(Sidenote, I couldn't get a clear picture of it but it also looked like there was a hair on the inside of one of the earpieces. This could just be a long piece of fabric from the foam padding and be a reasonable explanation so I'm not counting it as a point of evidence, but combined with the other signs of use I see I would be willing to believe it was hair).I actually had to double check the label on the box over the barcode that specified this headset was new, because I thought I had accidently ordered a used version by mistake. I will specify that I don't know if the headset itself works or not, I haven't tried it and I am not going to.Setting aside the fact that I did not order a used headset so I will not be using it, if it is being resold as new I have no guarantee that it's been cleaned or anything. I have seen used consoles trying to be sold to my store with live roaches inside crawling out onto the counter when we would go to test it before buying it (and no, we never accepted anything that even had a suspicion of an infestation). I have seen glue poured into the air vents of a PS4, I have seen tape holding together discs, and so on. I know the weird and disgusting things that people do with their stuff, which is why I always buy new. So despite what this sellers refund policy says, I am returning this and getting my money back. Their policy says that opened items can only be returned if they sre defective, so that raises 2 points for me:1) You say it can only be refunded if defective, and I say I shouldn't have been sent a used item as if it was new.2) I can assume, by your own policy, that this product is not just used but also defective since it was clearly used and sent back to you.TLDR: there were several things that stood out to me from my experience selling these types of products in retail indicating this headset was used but sold as new. I would recommend anyone buying from this seller to check their items carefully when they arrive because if this happened once whose to say it can't happen again? Mistakes happen, they can be acceptable when they happen, but not when companies or sellers try to cover them up to save themselves some cost.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great product for gaming but not as advertised... Disappointed
Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2019
Update #2. I have owned two pairs of these elite headsets. The Elite pro 2 + super amp for Xbox at $250 price tag at the time of purchase. And these black atlas elite head set for the PC a year later. Last year marked the 2nd year of owner ship of the elite pro 2 (which is the same headset as the atlas) and the band cracked through right at the ear cup swivel point. As you may know from the product description, they only have a 2 year warranty for defects. So the headset lasted roughly just over two years before breaking from a stress fracture from use. Contacted turtle beach and they stood by their warranty so no replacement. I watched the atlas headset like a hawk for the same failure and what do you know? 2 years 3 months. Same crack in the same location. Amazing. I would not buy any Elite pro headsets from turtle beach. These were clearly intended to be thrown away in 2 years and they know it. Check the video. I will add the elite pro 2 photos soon… same freaking failure…. No warranty. Changed to 1 star.

Update: Turtlebeach is a wonderful seller. They did me right by providing us options. #1 send back the headset for a true "New" condition headset, or #2 send us the OEM plates that should be on the side. Since the headset looks like its in decent shape (I really couldnt tell it was preowned), we went with option #2. Changing score from 2 to 5 star for the product and seller support.

I have a set of Elite pro2 for the Xbox (white ones) and loved them so much I bought the atlas version for the PC (pretty much same headset).

However to my dismay, they arrived with these tacky advertisements on the ear cups. I thought they were stickers at first but no it appears they are meant for the ear cup covers. Now I have a headset with free advertisement for Mountain dew when I stream. Very tacky of the seller... Would have rather supported turtle beach but it appear turtle beach would rather have me support diabetes.
