While I cannot speak for those with more nuanced intricacies, I can highly recommend this for those at my level - to those who dabble in storing family data. The high storage capacity is perfect for RAID arrays, which has already helped once when an older drive failed due to other hardware difficulties. The rebuild was flawless. In addition, even when bulk information goes through the drives, the drives are never that loud. It's great for home use and is barely even noticeable.
5/5 for surviving consistent uptime, good data storage for the price, and being low volume.
Update... Was making a sound but I noticed it stopped when I held down my PC. So it seems like the drives rotates really fast and if parts in your case are just a little loose you will hear some noise. I opened up my case made sure everything around the drive was secured and so far no loud noise.

The drives themselves have passed extensive read/write tests without so much as a hiccup. One thing to note however, is that this hard drive tends to be a little nosier. More than likely due to additional platters compared to the 4TB variant. Also important to clarify that this review is for the CMR version.

Overall, these drives are great for NAS and highly recommended if you can find them!
Pro:
- CMR disk so its suitable for NAS
- Reliable for long time usage
- Sequential write performance between 200-83MB/s depending on the region being written (The farther away from the inside of the disk platters you go, the higher the velocity of the head thus resulting in faster speed)
Con:
- tends to get hot so need proper ventilation
- 5700 rpm compared to the red prod wich is 7200
- warranty is only 3 years for the red pro compared to 5 years for the Red pro
