Old Xbox SAD Replaced by Microsoft (Updated)
Xbox is a great gaming system, but this iteration is lacking. My All Digital version arrived May 7th, in less than a day I have encountered a list of software problems. First it started off with a wacky controller that would disconnect randomly. This happened several times while I was setting up the Xbox. Despite trying to troubleshoot the connectivity issue, I just resorted to plugging my controller to the Xbox directly. I wish that was my only issue, but things got worse. I had several start up issue. I followed Microsoft troubleshooting procedures (basically unplug the Xbox wait 30 second and turn it back on). Nothing was working so I had to factory reset my Xbox. After I reset my Xbox, things started working, minus the dumb controller. Unfortunately, then I couldn't download the games I wanted, especially Apex. The installation would pause every 10 minutes. Finally, Apex finished downloading, but it wouldn't start up. I restarted my Xbox, I got an error screen on start up.I got the Xbox to supplement my Switch, but it looks like it wasn't worth it. I have had my Xbox for about a day, but I spent all my time troubleshooting. From controller connectivity to software issues, I have never had a problem with my Switch. I am really disappointed right now. Microsoft has a lot going for it, but this product is abysmal. I may just return it and get a PS4. Stay away from the All Digital edition, at least until they updated their os.Update: Sent my Xbox SAD into Microsoft. I got another Xbox SAD (New), and it works like a charm. I appreciate the simplicity of just buying games online and not having to wait for physical media. If the next Xbox has an All Digital version I would consider it.

Most of the people complaining here, just want to complain because they dont like the idea of an all digital medium for gaming. Hate to break it to you but that's the future. A lot of people, I see, are also complaining about the 1TB HD. Could it use an extra TB? Sure, but even with the 1TB HD you can download at minimum 15 games and most people aren't playing 15 games at one time. If you want to keep the price point lower, then 1TB is a good size for the compromise. I have a total of 3 Xboxes in my household, a One X, an Xbox One S, and now the current All Digital edition and for the price point of 199 plus the three games and the one month gold subscription, I think this is well worth the money. If someone is complaining about actual hardware or controller issues, then I can understand the frustration but that's going to be few and far in between I'm sure. Those complaining about petty things, are just here to complain. Take it from someone who has owned every console on the market since the 80s, this console is well worth the purchase. The three games it comes with is a bit of a let down as you can get all of them if you get Game Pass, which is 10 bucks a month or 15 bucks a month if you get Game Pass Ultimate. I bought this one for my son, who's Day One Edition just crapped out on us the other day, and it works perfect for our household and it kept the cost low. We dont buy physical media in this house anymore and havent for years. If you are looking for a good price point and dont mind the all digital medium, then this is the Xbox for you. If you really want to flex the 4K and also have the disc drive, then I would suggest the One X at much higher price point.

Casual gamer here, haven't had a console since 2004 when I had the original Xbox.

This thing is so lightning fast. I was debating getting this or the X, but I'm happy with the processing on this. Downloaded Halo last night after getting it and started playing no issues. It *did* crash in the middle of a game, but I think it was because I was downloading Doom Eternal while playing mutliplayer online in Halo, and just was a lot to download and to stream the online match.

Lots of youtube videos on how to turn on xbox, how to connect controllers, etc. It does download when its turned off which will lag your internet, so make sure you pause all downloads before turning it off or during work hours if you work remotely.

Came brand new, was in an amazon box. No issues there. I did buy a separate controller from microsoft's website and the controller that comes with the xbox one does feel a little cheaper, but that could be placebo effect / bias from reading comments in this thread.

Im very happy with the purchase.

Product arrived on time and the shipping packaging was adequate for the product. I did unbox the item and nothing appears damaged and product also appears new as promised. I have yet to connect it so more to come. I will amend review once I try the product and if all checks out, 4* will be going to 5*. Update...finally had a chance to connect the XBOX. Works perfectly and came with all of the digital redemption codes as promised. This was the cheapest price I found online and well worth the money! Now I just need to get used to having no disc option but shouldn’t be a problem!

I’m a PS4 player. Been buying PS since my 3rd Xbox 360 died on me. Hadn’t intended on buying an Xbox at all. Especially since next gen is right around the corner. Randomly decided to see what Xbox One prices were though. I prefer being able to use discs, especially since I still have some of my favorite 360 games, but $160 for a new Xbox One S was too good to pass up. And so far, I have not been disappointed at all. I did have a problem with the controller but Microsoft replaced that in like 3 days.

Coming from a PS4, the entire system takes time to get used to. Especially the menus. When going from the PS3 to PS4, most things remained the same with some improvements. Going from the 360 to the One, everything is different. Going from one menu to another, starting games, managing the hard drive, and even opening and navigating the store has been far smoother and quicker than any other console I’ve owned though.

The sound this Xbox makes is nearly non-existent as well. My PS4 has never been quiet, but the thing literally sounds like it’s trying to take off these days. The quiet alone is enough of a reason for me to spend a little more time on the Xbox than the PS4 at the moment.

The main reason I even considered buying this Xbox was because of the price, but I never actually would of bought it if the Game Pass and EA Access weren’t a thing. Barely had the money to buy the system so the chances of me buying games for 2 systems are slim to none. With a huge library of games for a really good price, it was a no brainer. And without having to spend the money on the games, buying DLC is a much easier decision. I would like to see more 360 games in the Game Pass, but I ain’t complaining about what I do get.

And I love the controller. I have relatively big hands so a slightly larger controller is way more comfortable than the PS4 controllers.

I do have one big problem with this purchase though. The page says you’re supposed to get digital codes for Minecraft, Sea of Thieves, and Forza 3. I didn’t get a code for Forza. I got a code for random cosmetic items for Fortnite, a game I will never be playing on the Xbox.

TLDR - Great price, great sub service for games, very quiet, relatively quick loading, comfortable controller for bigger hands.

Seriously, if you don’t have an Xbox One and have around $200 to spare (EA Access is $30 a year. Game Pass + Gold is $1 a month for 3 months then $45 every 3 months), definitely get this if you can.

5.0 out of 5 stars All-Digital, Great Price and Starting Titles in a Single Bundle
Reviewed in Canada on November 5, 2019
The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition is definitely a deal you’d want to take advantage of. The console is by no means great, particularly given that there is limited HDD space, but the bundle is what makes this edition stand out. For its price, the console and three digital games that come with the bundle is definitely worth it if you’re looking to get into casual gaming.

The console comes with a hefty 1TB worth of storage space which is enough for a couple of games and apps, however an external HDD or SSD would be helpful further down the line.
