Activity tracking: I like that there are lots of activities you can track and they are arranged logically. For example: cycling, swimming, dance, combat sports, etc are all major categories, and under dance, as an example, you'll find: square, ball room, ballet ... zumba.
Battery life: I'm charging the watch about once per 10-14 days which I think is awesome - you can go on a 1 week vacation confident that the watch will last that time with a single charge. I did notice that the "always on" feature available on some watch faces does use up more battery than the default dark screen. I don't think this is a big deal because the watch will light up whenever you raise your arm to read the time, so there's no real need to use the always on feature. I came from the Amazfit Bip which I charged once a month, but given this watch tracks heart rate, I don't mind charging it twice as often as the Bip.
Sleep tracking: I'm not sure how it calculates sleep, but I think I sleep pretty well and yet the watch thinks I'm not sleeping all that well, so there's some subjectivity there.
The Zepp app is ok, it shows you sleep, heart rate and details on activities. It is fairly intuitive to use. One complaint I have is that it doesn't seem to calculate my resting heart rate - this could be caused by the watch thinking I'm not sleeping that well, and therefore cannot calculate resting heart rate - oh well.
All this being said, I really hope data collected by Zepp/Amazfit is being treated with appropriate levels of privacy and security.
The watch is very clean looking, with good visibility in most light. I occasionally have an issue viewing the display in bright direct sunlight, but tapping the display brings it on and easily readable.
Overall, the sensors seem to work well and provide accurate results. SPO2, heart rate etc. Are all within a small margin from the readings provided from our other home medical devices.
My only gripe is that it takes the SPO2 quite a bit of time to return a reading, at 30 seconds or more, that said, it seems to give accurate readings.
I haven't used the GPS features very much, but they seem to lock on quickly and accurately.
Battery life is much better than most, with sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, sleep breathing (beta feature) and moderate daily notifications etc. I average 5-6 days between charges. Recharge to 100% is less than two hours.
There is a fairly wide range of available watch faces, from super geek techy to traditional. You'll find something you'll like.
On the software side, the Zepp app should probably get a separate review, but here are a couple of odd things.
The temperature readings don't seem to synch back to the app, the temp display shows your selected format (C or F) but if you manually want to enter a temp, it only allows C input, which is a pain. This should be a simple software fix.
There's a place to record blood pressure, which is nice, but when you input the manual entry, it's standard DYS/SYS, but the display in the dashboard flips those, which is no big deal, but very sloppy programming.
Finally, the blood sugar tracking feature is nice but it only accepts units in mmol/l units, which doesn't match up with the usual standard from most glucose meters of mg/dl.
There's a lot to like about having access to all this different information in the app in addition to all the automated tracking that is provided from the watch, but they need to do some serious cleanup to take it up a level
Overall, best smartwatch I've had so far. Outstanding display, solid feature set and best of all I don't have to charge it every day.
If the software was cleaner I'd give five stars across the board, highly recommend.
