ROG Zephyrus S GX531
Powerfully versatile, the ROG Zephyrus S uses 9th Gen Intel Core and GeForce RTX™ processors to slice through both professional gaming and work on a high-refresh display. Create content, stream, and play on a powerhouse machine that redefines what premium gaming laptops can do.
Silky-Smooth Display
Super-narrow bezels draw you deeper into the action on the 144Hz IPS-level display. The high refresh rate makes gameplay smoother and lowers input lag, while the 3ms gray-to-gray response time produces sharper visuals with no blurring.
Amp Up Your Audio
ROG Zephyrus S puts audio at the forefront with dual speakers aimed right at you. The resulting output is louder, with more bass and range that help you hear every sound.
Expansive Connections
ROG Zephyrus S has all the connectivity needed for gaming on the go. Type-C™ (USB-C™) ports are available at USB 3.1 Gen 2 and Gen 1 speeds, while Type-A USB 3.1 Gen 2 and USB 2.0 ports are perfect for a gamepad and mouse.
Up your Game with GeForce RTX
Powered by the new NVIDIA Turing GPU architecture and the revolutionary RTX platform, RTX graphics cards bring together real-time ray tracing, artificial intelligence, and programmable shading to your favorite ROG devices. Experience a new way to game.
Comprehensive Cooling Coverage
The Zephyrus S automatically adjusts fan speeds based on CPU and GPU temperatures, and you can quickly toggle between three modes with a convenient function shortcut. With upgraded 12v fans and anti-dust tunnels, the cooling system on the Zephyrus S is prepared to tackle the latest games with ease.
AURA SYNC Beyond the Keyboard
The AURA SYNC keyboard ensures precise input in the heat of battle with n-key rollover and up to 20 million keypress durability. You can customize the backlight colors and effects to suit your style, and another configurable RGB zone illuminates the AAS intake at the back for ambient lighting.

There is one single M.2 slot....that is it... no 2.5 inch and no 2nd m.2. So you're most likely going to want to buy a 1 or 2TB drive and swap it.
8GB of the 16GB ram are Soldered to the MOBO...meaning you can swap the other 8GB stick with a 16GB stick to give you a total of 24GB, but thats it. It will not accept higher than 16GB sticks. Now for gaming, 24GB is more than enough, so again not an issue for me, but for others, who knows.
oh and the battery life blows....but its a 6 core i7 and a rtx 2070 in a tiny chassis...what did you expect lol
Thats it. The rest is near perfection. Just stuff you should know about before buying. 5/5 easily
Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Thermal Paste and still getting 90+c. so if you are going to use it on your lap just a warning DONT you will regret it. oh and the other pics on the wire it was getting to hot and the black wire touched inside somewhere and fried the wires that go to the display i got it working again but needed a solder gun. and you might want to upgrade the paste and msata to at least a 2tb.

Also, the fan is very loud on this machine as you expect with a gaming laptop, but the odd thing is that if you put your laptop to sleep instead of turning it off, the laptop fans will roar in the middle of the night while closed as if you are playing a game. Not the biggest deal as you just need to shut off the machine, but it is part of what you are buying evidently.
Fans are pretty loud, but if you're not super sensitive to noise it shouldn't be an issue, and the computer does have profiles where you can make the fans run quieter, but it throttles the CPU and GPU so they don't overheat, and even with the fans going pretty hard it hasn't been too much of an issue, but this is the first time I've had a computer with fans I can hear almost all the time.
Other thing is the keys feel like they're alittle too close to the case. This is more of a personal issue than a technical one though.
16 gigs of RAM is a bit low for my taste, but being upgradable to 24 by swapping out the removable 8 gig stick with a 16 gig is in the plans for the near future and isn't too much more expensive.
More hard drive space would be nice. But more on that later.
Now for the good stuff: the CPU and GPU are absolute champs. Remember that this is a gaming laptop and this 2070 won't give you the same performance as it's desktop variant, and this is specifically the energy saving laptop version of the 2070 so it performs a little worse than a beefier made laptop 2070. BUT, it's still more than capable of running pretty much anything you throw at it and will likely still be a fantastic GPU to have for a solid portion of even the upcoming generation of gaming. I don't know as much about CPU stuff, but it's been doing everything I've needed it to do and so I'm happy with it.
The RGB keyboard is pretty nice to have. Doesn't really have as indepth customization as I would like but it's really not that important to me. I specifically like how the track pad can be used as a number pad instead though. It takes a little getting used to, but once you make the adjustment it feels great and lets the track pad still get some use since most likely you'll be using a mouse with this.
Despite only having 500gigs, the SSD is amazing to have. This is my first computer with an SSD and it's completely changed things for me, but I would heavily recommend having at least a 1tb external HDD. Luckily I already had a couple of 4tb externals laying around so space isn't an issue for me, but it could be for other people.
I haven't really dug into how the speakers sound or anything cuz I either use my plugged in via HDMI for sound, or my studio headphones for found. I also don't anything with web cams so I haven't looked into that. Battery life if you're gaming obviously is gonna be pretty low, but having the option to only charge the battery to 60% is pretty nice so you put less stress on the battery and get it to last longer. My old laptop's battery only holds a charge for like an hour cuz I never looked into those options until it was too late. This was $1661 when I bought it, and for the money I can't imagine finding a single better computer.
Its good in gaming but the fan is loud, with a headset you wont hear it.
Gaming temp , cpu 80+ and hpu 70+
Very good for daily use, quite and low temp
Battery life is bad 3h
