Fun Side Story

Fun Side Story
Much smaller scale in importance and has less overall impact on Borderlands world/series. Unless you count the ending which gives a Rouge One (Star Wars film) vibe. You follow a new crew of incompetent non-significant characters with no special abilities who got their hands on a powerful objectStory and dialogue have more personal relationships, banter between characters/team dynamic than just one dimensional characters with one liners, quips, and forced jokes. There are still pop culture references/easter eggs thrown in.Gameplay is pretty typical like in any TellTale game where you either choose from a set of conversation choices, use and follow button prompts or quick timed events (QTE), and explore in an free roam environment to interact with items and/or to solve puzzles. The exploration is significantly toned down compared to TellTales previous games. Personally like this choice as it makes the story flow smoother. They FINALLY fixed the walking animation/controls. No longer feels stiff like past TellTale titles where the characters walk like puppets on a stringsPuzzle solving is basically a find/interact with an object. Either by walking up and interact with it with/without scanning deviceDialogue choices doesn't really change the overall plot exception being the last chapter where you can get multiple endings. You need to keep your skateboard (team cooperation) score up throughout the game to get the perfect ending. Aside from that, dialogue choices does not really impact some scenarios in latter episodes aside from getting different set of voicelines from charactersQTEs are very simple and generous, they give you more reaction time compared to other games, so there's less chances of a game over screen. Even easier if you change the accessibility optionsStory is more down-to-earth. As mentioned before just common people in Pandora getting a hold of a powerful object. They try to make money off it to get rich and/or save the world, and a evil corporation tries to get their hands on it. Glad they released all episodes on one disc instead of episodically. Ending felt a bit rushed like anther choose-your-adventure type game: Life is Strange True Colors; where there's a major shift last episode/chapter without much lead upYou don't need prior knowledge of the Borderlands series to play the game, but it's more enjoyable if you do as there are references to other characters in the series (although you don’t interact with them)Graphics fits really well as the TellTale games and Borderland series are already very similar. There are skins you can unlock via in-game cash earned by opening chest during exploration segments-A lot of accessibility options able to change:Dialogue timerQTE TimerHold vs press during QTEHigh contrast outline key items, so you don’t wander around all the time/skip items, collectablesTurn on important choice notifications. Impact choices-PSN trophies.Easy platinum, but doesn’t respect your time. Must replay multiple times to get all 5 endings. Also some trophies are event/dialogue choice specific. I think these type of trophies hinder how you want to play as some may look at trophy list and try to obtain most the can first playthrough instead of creating your own personal experience. Also some scenes drag out without option to skip so repeated playthrough for trophies can be a chore. Wished it was just chapter unlocks like TellTale early games.PS5 version is exactly the same as PS4 version aside from faster load times. No PS5 controller or 3D audio features. No file transfer or auto trophy pop upOverall good TellTale series game. Really like the quality-of-life changes (especially the walking animations) and highlight items options in this game. Need to go back to simple PSN trophy unlocks
