A good watch for the price.
So I have a few smart watches. This is my 3rd WearOS watch. I had the original Huawei Watch, a mobvoi Ticwatch S2, and a Gen 4 Fossil Smart Watch. I also have a Garmin Instinct. Generally all of these watches have been compromises. The Huawei watch was built on a processor that quickly was forgotten and didn't get updates, but it was a very nice looking watch. The Mobvoi Ticwattch S2 had great durability but lacked a few features I wanted (NFC for payments for one) and was a little under-powered. The Gen 4 Fossil was nice looking and had 1GB of ram making it run a little smoother, but the processor was still kind of slow and it lacked an spO2 sensor (I have sleep apnea and am curious about that). Additionally due to weight some things with its design the Fossil Watch wasn't great for working out. (Doing push-ups, your going to hit those buttons a lot.) Another problem with all of these Wear OS watches is battery life. They all need daily charging given my use. My Garmin instinct needs to be charged every 2 weeks or so, but it doesn't have nearly the smart features (no NFC, no Assistant, no on the flay responses to notifications though there are preset quick replies for text). That brings us to this watch, The Mobvoi Ticwatch E3. This watch is essentially an update to my S2 which can be seen in the pictures beside the E3 (the E2 and S2 were basically the same watch with different casings). It has more RAM and the newest processor and it shows. This watch is smooth, quickly responds to Assistant request. This is only the second watch with this new processor and the other, the Mobvoi Tickwatch Pro3, is a $300 watch. It also has an improved screen, which can get brighter and looks great....aside from the bezel. On the S2 the design was a sportier watch design that while it had a chunky kind of bezel surround it made the screen actually all screen. The E3 has a large black ring around the watch face. I use watch faces with black backgrounds and it doesn't bother me much, but it may be something that others won't like the look of. This watch has 2 nice side pushers instead of the flat button on the S2. They are nice, but I haven't worked out with them yet to see if they will cause a problem. On my fossil watch it did seem like I mostly hit the center button on accident, so maybe these two offset buttons will be better. The Fossil watch has a rotating crown, which is a very nice way to navigate the system, this doesn't have that feature and I do miss it a little.Battery life is only slightly better that my other Wear OS watches. I get to the end of the day with about 25% and charge it before bed. It takes a little longer to charge (about 1 hour to go from 25%-100%) and uses a charger that connects a little awkwardly at the top next to the strap (see photo). It is important to note that my use is a lot for smart watches. I get nearly all my notifications set, I keep an always on (but dimmed) display because I like to be able to just see the time and for my watch to look like a watch. I do turn off lift to wake and touch to wake so I have to actually push the button to get the watch to full brightness. I use all day heart and on this watch spO2 monitoring. At night in bed, I turn on theater mode to turn off the screen completely. Tweaking these settings may get you longer battery life. In the 7 days I have had the watch I have run down to under 5% once. Then the watch enters an "essentials mode". It will continue to tell time, track steps, and a few other things for days in that mode as I understand it. The more expensive Ticwatch Pro 3 has a second low power LCD screen over the color screen you can use as your always on screen to really expand battery life, but that watch is $300. The essentials mode on this watch is similar to the on the pro 3, but without the low power screen. Battery life on this watch is a little better than other Wear OS watches, for me that is just over a day, your mileage may vary.Design wise, I wish Mobvoi had made an S3, as I am a little concerned I may scratch this watch's screen. The S2 had a recessed screen that felt a little better protected. Aside from that, this watch looks nice and is very light weight due to plastic build. I am fine with the plastic build, because it saves weight on what would be a heavy thick watch if it was a metal build This is the fastest, smoothest, best working Wear OS watch I have had. It may not be the nicest looking (that would be the fossil) but it works the best. And it does still look nice. The curved screen is good looking and feels good under the finger.I will say I have one worry about this watch, that is OS updates. My S2, which is just over a year old, has not had an OS update in a while, and the new version running on this new watch would be great on my S2. The updated tiles and app tray in the current version of wear OS is nice. Additionally Google and Samsung have announced they are working together to make Wear OS's next update, due likely near the end of this summer. So far Mobvoi has not announced that it will update this watch to the updated version of the OS, which makes me worry that my new watch could be outdated in just two months. It will continue to work, but over time apps and things will quickly not be supported. So this watch is a great watch, the only other wear OS watch that matches it's computing hardware is $100 more expensive (most of the time, it can be found on sale sometimes). This watch runs great and has all of the features I can think you might want. The battery life is a little better than older Wear OS watches, but it will likely still be a daily charger for most. It looks good, it light and comfortable to wear, and can be set bright enough to see in the sun. It's a really good watch for the money.

This is my daily watch now -- consider this a three -month long-term review.

tldr I like it a lot, for being a functional and stylish enough round watch, that has access to the Google store (meaning a huge selection of watch faces!)

Although built off Google's os, the software tweaks by Mobvoi and fast hardware combined equal a much smoother, lag-free experience. Much improved from my experiences w plain Jane Wear OS on previous tech (including the previous iteration of this guy, the C2) which always were a bit laggy.

Speaking of the back to back comparison, the two watches are roughly the same size, diameter -wise, but I was surprised to see how much thicker the c3 is, presumably given an the new tech they cram beneath it.

Health readings, steps, all related health telemetry works perfectly fine to the extent that I use it (minimal, aside from step count). It does pick up an O2 oxygen reading better than any other wearable I've tried, but this is still the most difficult thing to measure accurately, I'd guess, from the wrist.

The screen is big and great and bright enough for any amount of daylight--i err between the dimmest setting for inside to the 2nd dimmest outside (1-5 iirc). Quite nice screen, esp since I usually do 'always screen on' with the attached watchface..

Battery life is acceptable, but that's still a low bar for smart watches. I've had some of the smaller devices with longer battery life (measured in weeks not days or, god forbid, hours) and it's really great to be confident ditching the charger on short multi-day trips.

This is not necessarily THAT watch. (Mine in that case is the Ticwatch GTH pro with an honest week-long life on one charge, used judiciously.)

The C3 improves on the C2 in battery length, but I ended up turning always screen on off --if worn to bed, I didn't find a habit that reliably allowed me to charge it enough to keep it charged. Losing battle charging in the morning. This was with afaik all the settings 'ON'. (!)

Currently, I'm simply not wearing it to bed often-again, rather thick!- so it has time to charge overnight.

That's my solution. If you're efficient with battery use, this can go 3-4 days--but you'd need to be planning from jump street.

Overall, it's a great watch! And sometimes wearables don't even meet the standard of crappy watch... The device is snappy in menus/responding to commands it looks great, like a time piece, and uses a regular watch strap (meaning I have a ton already compatible--10mm iirc).

The screen is great but not whack -your-socks-off colorful and vibrant. It's highly legible and a high enough resolution to where there's no visible pixels.

For the price, it's a phenomenal watch

Battery life on this watch is a little better than other Wear OS watches, for me that is just over a day, your mileage may vary.

Design wise, I wish Mobvoi had made an S3, as I am a little concerned I may scratch this watch's screen. The curved screen is good looking and feels good under the finger.

I will say I have one worry about this watch, that is OS updates.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible Features, Looks Really Good and Unbelievable Value for Money.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 24, 2022

I can give this review on the basis of a lot of experience I have with smart watches. I have a Garmin Fenix 6 Pro, which is usually my go to sports/exercise watch. My Garmin is a fantastic watch, although very expensive. However I felt that the features I get from it, required me to pay the high price tag. That was until I found this E3 Smartwatch from Mobvoi!

    In brief, the Mobvoi Ticwatch E3 is a fantastic all rounder at a really good price. Here are the main reasons I would highly recommend it;

    The price:
This has to be the top reason - the number of features you get with this watch far exceeds the cost when compared to other smart watches. I really was surprised that you can get a watch that pretty much does it all, for such an amazing price. I bought it for £175 and I've even seen it cheaper on a Deal Price. I simply cannot find a smart watch on Amazon that is better value for money when considering the features.

    The looks:
I mainly bought this watch as a day-to-day work horse. I love my Garmin, but that is for sports and I wanted another watch that was just looked good. The photos on Amazon don't do the watch justice. It looks really good on the wrist. It is light, so nice to wear all day long. You can change the strap too very easily. The screen is so good, even when it's in battery saver mode, so on the wrist it just always looks good!

    The battery life:
A huge selling point of this watch is the very good battery life. My biggest issue with smart watches is that I hate it when the battery doesn't last. This was a big reason I chose this watch and it didn't disappoint. If you use the battery saver, you can even get upto 3 days, if you go for essential mode it will last I think weeks! Let's just say, I've never had it run out on essential mode. It's just not something you need to worry about on this watch.

    The always on:
I also like my smart watches to be on, even when I'm not looking at them. I don't really like having to always raise my wrist or touch the screen to turn a watch on, sometimes I just want to glance over at it on my wrist and see the time. I also like it to look like a real watch to other people, not just a black screen. With the Ticwatch, the battery is so incredibly good because of their screen technology, I can easily have the always on display without worrying about battery.

You can use it for any sport:
I primarily choose a smart watch for sports. As I said, I have a Garmin for this, so didn't buy this watch for that purpose, but more as a general watch day to day. What surprised me was how good this watch is for sport. It has an app for pretty much anything and tracks it very well. I love the fact that it's waterproof and able to track my swimming.

    Make Payments:
I love being able to leave my wallet at home and just use my watch. It syncs easily to your Google account and you can pay for things contactless, just like a card. It's easy to set up, and easy to use.

    Health features:
I love the continuous heart rate monitoring and stress management. It's constantly checking you and again, you don't have to worry about battery. It's very useful to know this data to see how healthy you are and what you can do about it.

    Fast & easy to use:
The watch is responsive and fast. The screen is clear and bright.

    Everything else:
There's not really anything not to like about this watch. It's amazing what you get for your money. You can install any apps you want from Google Wear, including new watch faces. There's even apps testing your hearing, washing your hands reminders, and you can take calls through your phone, on the watch. It does pretty much everything and looks good too.

I recommend this watch very highly. It is an amazing all-rounder. It does it all, with a good battery and looks great too. The price for this quality of watch is superb.
