I purchased this scanner to save my receipts. It dose an excellent job and copies both sides at the same time. It also automatically will straighten a crooked scan and will automatically rotate the image upright if it is upside down, if you choose that option when you set it up. The one thing I was disappointed in was if the receipt is over 11" long the scanner thinks there is a jam. Simple solution just fold the receipt over on itself and the scanner will automatically scan both sides and correct the text being upside down.
I have owned a lot of Epson & HP printers and always had trouble with them. I purchased a Canon Printer 20 years ago and I have never had an issue, So, I decided that I would try this Canon scanner. I have not been disappointed. the software is very intuitive and easy to set up. If you need a portable scanner or a scanner that does not take up a lot of space, buy this one!

Wonderfully portable!
The first thing one will notice is the size of the Canon P-215II Document Scanner. Measuring at only 11 inches in length about the size of 2 rules wide, this scanner is VERY portable. Seeing the size, I was a bit skeptical with how it was going to work, but was pleasantly surprised.The Canon P-215II was very easy to set up. It came with a "Before Use" guide told that told exactly what had to be hooked up and how to use the installation disk that made it almost fool-proof for setting up and using the scanner. Unfortunately the User's Guide wasn't as clear and not nearly as easy to use. It is downloaded from the disk and opens in a PDF file, not a problem, but how it is categorized, subdivided and the descriptions/instructions leave much to be desired. The scanner is pretty much straight forward, though, so you can easily piece together what you need to do and how to do it.The scanner scans all thicknesses and sizes of documents and it removes blank pages, automatically corrects and fixes the image quality. This scans pretty quickly, although not as quickly as a more stationary scanner. It feeds the papers through evenly and scans both sides at once. There is a nice feature that you can set where it recognizes text and will turn the scan so it is upright and readable. No more upside down scans.The scanner did well with different sized papers: letter, envelope, recipe cards,as well as business cards. There is a separate place to feed cards through. That I found a bit awkward, but it scans them nicely with no jams.This scanner comes with a Power Supply USB cable and no A/C adapter. You need to purchase that separately. Because of this, I found it perfect for using with a laptop - again making it more portable. I think the Canon imageFormula P-215II Document Scanner is quite an amazing piece of technology. I am thrilled with its portability and have found it would be something to take with me on both personal or business trips. What a time saver it would prove to be. Take it along on the holidays and scan in family recipes and other documents you might want to save: birth or death certificates, etc. On a business trip, you won't have to worry about carrying tons of papers around or fooling with business cards.
