Folks, take it from a looooong time musician. Zoom absolutely ROCKS. This thing will give your iPhone video absolutely CLEAN CLEAN audio, especially for stuff out in nature. You can also play with mid-side recordings which allow you to adjust the stereo spread of the audio IN POST (after the fact). I have recorded outdoor video in the forest as well as campfire audio and such and it's just gorgeous audio. Yum!

Current iPhones have a better microphone!
This is 4-5 year old technology. If you have a recent iPhone X, the microphone on your phone is better than this. I’m sure it was handy for older models of iPhone, but I did several trial runs and there was scratching and odd interference at all volume levels. I tried the other user’s suggestion of turning on airplane mode — still had the funky noises. Clear as a bell when I took it off. Bottom line, if you have an iPhone X, save your money. This should only be marketed to older phones. (It only lists through iPhone 6 on the box.)
