Great for my apartment. Volume control is a must where I live. Using this with mesh heads. volume is low enough that I can have a conversation while playing. Goes good with my electric piano and line 6 helix. These are also a good volume for acoustic guitars without a amp. Definitely can be used in a coffee shop or church.

2.0 out of 5 stars They're Going To CHEW Up Your Sticks
Reviewed in the United States on September 30, 2023
I absolutely HATE the fact that I'm leaving a poor review for anything Zildjian. I adore their cymbals (next piece of gear on my wish list is a set of K hats .... <sigh>), but these L80s miss the mark.

They do work for their intended purpose. For me, that's reducing practice volume to a level that will not bother neighbors. These are great at that. With a good feel and distinct tonal differences, I practice for hours with these on my kit and have zero issues with noise traveling far outside of the house.

The caveat: they maul wooden sticks. The included pic shows an eaten-up Vater 5B on the left. You can also see the amount of sawdust left under my hats from a single, 2 hour practice session.

I'm a fairly loud player, but don't consider myself a heavy hitter. Never put a dent in a head and only one cracked cymbal in my life.

I've taken to sandpaper in an attempt to finish the edges as it does feel as though they're rough. Possibly not machined correctly, but either way, at $15 a pop for a set of sticks, these cymbals are now costing me money.

**NOTE: I purchased these a long time ago, but didn't get back to playing until recently. It was only when I ramped up to a serious 1-3 hour daily practice that this issue became apparent.

It's ok, Zildjian, I still love you.
