There are many more people who will review everything there is from the speed, battery etc. They will put this through it's paces and help you understand the nitty gritty details. They will test the speakers and the output of the bass and the quickness of a response when you click on an app.

For me, I simply want it to work, every time, with very little problems. I want something that is intuitive and easy to use. This is particularly true as my parents and inlaws and young children need something easy to use that doesn't require a lot of learning.

The Ipad products and the mini ipad 4 fits this perfectly. It is fairly easy to use. You can charge it easily and the only other port is for the headphones/speakers. That is very direct and it is not possible to mix up which cord goes where. When you click on an app it goes to the app that it should go to. Everything is very easy to use and fairly quick.

This makes it very easy for older people who don't completely understand tech and how it works to use. It makes it easy for young children who don't have a lot of patience to use.

I like that it is small enough to fit into a purse as well.

I have owned 3 Kindle Fire's and was always happy but after my Kindle HDX started malfunctioning I knew it was time for a new one. I looked and looked at the Kindle Fires and just was not satisfied at what I was seeing and started considering an iPad. Well, after much research and considering the availability of apps (I have an iPhone) I decided it was the right way to go. Ordered the iPad Mini 4.

Well, I received it and started setting it updownloading my apps, setting up the apps, and getting everything ready to use. After several hours (due partly to a bad internet connection) it was ready to go.

In all honesty there is NO comparison between the iPad and the Kindle Fire (of course the Fire is much cheaper in its base version). The biggest difference is the very small (in comparison) number of apps available for the Fire. Apple has their proverbial s**t together when it comes to apps.

Kindle Fire, I loved you for years and 3 different versions but the 3 deciding factors for me were; 1) number and breadth of apps 2) integrated, built in memory (a BIG shortcoming on current Kindle Fires) 3) suitability to a work environment, which comes down to features and once again, apps.

If you are deciding between Kindle Fire and iPad you just need to decide if you want a Yugo or a Mercedes. The Yugo will get you places but the Mercedes will get you more, faster, and stand up for many more miles. Of course it costs more.

This replaced my Kindle Fire HDX - the last generation with "true" high resolution. For some reason the Kindles no longer support retina quality display on the color / HDX devices. This is a nice replacement. The Kindle was the best value, by far, but when my wireless started to go out I decided to replace it with a Mini. What's better: screen quality & resolution, one ecosystem with my Mac and Air 2 and iPhone 7s. What's worse: not as easy to order books or movies - you have to go to another device or Safari to login and order, then back to watch. I wish Amazon would update the Fire line with a real improvement to exceed the quality of the old HDX line, but that doesn't seem to be happening. For size, convenience, reader and video watching the iPad Mini is a great (albeit expensive) replacement.

I usually don't get "drops and spills" insurance for small electronics purchases, but I will from now on. My brand spanking new iPad Mini 4 slipped from my hands and landed hard on the tiled kitchen floor. My heart sank as it played out in slo-mo... NOOOO!!!. Good thing that my credit card covers such damages, I got the tablet replaced for free. Phew!

The moral: GET THE INSURANCE Amazon offers for such purchases (and I'm not getting paid to say this--though I wish I did).

As for the iPad, nothing negative to say whatsoever. Er...well... Okay! It's obvious that it doesn't ricochet off hard flooring well. Still trying to figure why Apple makes their portable products so flimsily.

Product as described and delivered on time.

Pros/Observations:
Price was significantly better on Amazon than at the store.
Processor is a little faster that the Mini 2.
Colours are more vibrant than the iPad Mini 2.
Camera is also better.
Nice to have 128g of storage (just in case).
Apple appears to still have good build quality.
I like the 8 inch size (travel a lot).
Have discovered that it's actually a pretty good device for work when paired with a Bluetooth keyboard.

Cons:
Benefits (so far) of the Mini 4 over the Mini 2 don't seem that great - this may change if I download IOS 11.
Now that I got the Mini 4, watch Apple introduce a newer generation . . .
