A flawed but really good aftermarket card, however DO NOT buy this card in 2020.
I cannot recommend purchasing the Vega 64 Strix card in 2020 at any price point other than $200-240 used. If for some reason you want this exact card know that it can be purchased for $350-400 new as of February 2020 on eBay. However, at that price you can purchase a 5700 XT which has 15% more power. The current listing price of $800 is absurd and shouldn't even be considered unless you like flushing your hard earned money down the toilet. For 1080p 100-144+ FPS or 1440p 60-90 FPS gaming, with a mix of high and ultra settings, and the occasional medium setting (curse you Volumetric Clouds in AC Odyssey) this card performed outstanding. However getting it there took a few tweaks. The biggest problem I had with this graphics card was with the way the card was manufactured. The factory thermal pad in it didn't make full contact with all of the VRM so some of the heat produced wasn't properly pulled into the heat sink as a result the card would throttle and never reach the clocks that ASUS listed. I fixed this by replacing the thermal pad with one that properly covered the VRM. After that undervolting the card and overclocking the HBM2 memory I was able to get close to a 15% boost in performance. I don't know how wide spread of a problem the thermal pads are with Strix Vega 64 cards, but at the time googling a fix I found several people on forums also having the same issue.I bought this card early 2018 and while Vega wasn't a GTX 1080 killer as rumored, I have been pleased with it even with the problems I've encountered. That said, I have bought just Strix cards for last few GPU cycles and have to say for the 1-3% boost in performance with ASUS cards they are not worth the price premium, if price to performance is your main drive for purchasing a graphics card.If this was late 2017 early 2018 I would say go ahead and buy the card, but with so many much better options in 2020 you really should look at something else.

I bought this Asus ROG Strix OC Gaming RX Vega 64 to replace my aging and failing CrossFired pair of Sapphire Tri-X OC R9 290x's to power a new 32" FreeSync 1440p monitor for gaming, and I am not disappointed. I am getting similar framerates (to ideal CrossFire framerates with my old graphics cards and a 27" 1440p non FreeSync monitor), without the hassle and side effects of CrossFire. A lot of newer and/or upcoming games do not support CrossFire or SLI. The smoothness of a single powerful card paired with adaptive sync is hard to beat, and now I can play the games that didn't support CrossFire with very high to maxed out settings with very smooth game play. This card is very large, larger than the Sapphire Tri-X's being replaced, but quiet and runs fairly cool (around 75 degrees C max after hours of gaming in a well ventilated case) for what it is (a power hungry Vega 64). If you are coming from a setup like mine, it will be a side grade as far as framerates on most well optimized CrossFire supported games, but without the CrossFire stutter, and an upgrade of framerates, pretty much doubled, on the games that don't support CrossFire, and you will only need two 8 pin power connectors instead of four. With or without FreeSync, you will enjoy very smooth gameplay on very high or maximum graphics settings at 1440p with this card. Whether you need to replace an aging graphics card setup, or want to build a new gaming rig with an AMD powered video card (or both), I highly recommend this graphics card, at a reasonable price ($599 was reasonable to me after waiting so long to buy an RX Vega 64 because of the pricing during the first half of 2018). I highly recommend pairing it with a FreeSync monitor as well. You won't regret either decision if you have been waiting to game on a RX Vega 64 and/or a FreeSync monitor.

This GPU is amazing. Very very fast and the build quality is just amazing. I have always used Nvidia GPUs but...i decided this time that i want to try AMD. Man I'm not disappointed. With my freesync monitor i can now enjoy very fluid game play and for a lot less than the Nvidia counterpart. This Asus AMD GPU is just quality! Everything about it is awesome. The only negative i can give is that when the fans are spinning is a bit noisy but you can setup everything with the Asus software so it won't run too loud. To me the noise level is acceptable and...man there's nothing bad to say just wow. I'm really impressed and happy with this GPU. Just 10/10.

    Update:
After having the card for more than a month, i can honestly say this card is very very good. I don't know about those reviews that claim VEGA64 is a power hungry card but this VEGA64 from Asus never goes above 195 watts of power usage. I mean doesn't matter what game i through at it it never consumes more than that. And that's even without playing with undervolting the card. So I'll try that another time or simply just keep the card as is. But I'm still in love with this card and my perception of AMD has changed drastically. AMD is a great company and i will happily recommend AMD products to my relatives.

For years I have had trouble with this card. Tons of crashing while gaming. The AMD Utility for this GPU would not turn the fans on adequately to keep the GPU temperatures under control while doing any kind of gaming.

Games like Diablo 2: Resurrected, were enough to overheat the GPU and that is not a very graphically intensive game at all.

BIOS Updates, Game Updates, and GPU Driver Updates were checked very often, nothing fixed the problem.

Only by going into advanced tuning options in the AMD Utility and setting the fans to come on at a certain temperature could I keep the GPU from crashing.

Only one little side affect, very loud fans. This was my first AMD graphics card, it will be the last.

I love AMD, been wanting to upgrade from my RX580. Got it when it was on sale.
I can run Rainbow Six Siege at Ultra settings at1440p (2k) at 120fps and get little to no frame drop. Other games got a huge quality boost.

    Pros:
-It can run most games at Ultra at 2K(1440p) over 100fps.
    -Looks Great
-Customizable RGB (you can change the colors to match your setup)
-The 3 fans help it run at cooler temps

No Cons for me yet. It is what I expected.
-Bulky (make sure it fits in your case before you buy, I sacrificed 1 HDD slot but I don't really need it)
-You need a minimum of 750psu (power supply unit) if you are going to run at 4K ultra settings
-it is an 8 pin psu connector, RX580 is 6 pin. Make sure you have the right cable for best performance.

No complaints, I got exactly what I paid for. This card is rock-solid and the drivers are spectacular, especially on Linux.
My one (minor) complaint is that there's no documentation about how to disable the lighting (some like it, I don't like having bright lights in my computer) on Linux; I figure it's on one of the I2C buses, but they don't seem to be documented, so I ended up just unplugging the lights on the cooler shroud.
