The only cons are the music is... godawful but I don't mind because I can get out frustration and get a good workout :)
Honestly for the price it isn't bad. I wasted more money at a gym membership and half the time I couldn't find child care. It's a good way to make sure you get at least a little workout in every day.
I really like that you can customize what part of your body you want to focus on, and change the trainers if you get tired of one. I also like that you check in every day and get streaks.
UPDATE - Well, it’s been about 3 weeks since I got the Switch and Fitness Boxing and... I LOVE IT! I’ve been boxing nearly every day. I think I’ve only missed 2 or 3 days in 3 weeks. The workouts get progressively more difficult I’m now up to doing 35 or 45 minutes per work. In addition to still being engaged and actually looking forward to the workouts, I’ve dropped about 5 pounds and 8 inches... it’s slow but steady progress and I’m starting to actually see the difference in the mirror and in the way my clothes fit. The only cons I’ve found are, like another reviewer mentioned, you have to use metrics. The others are little glitches in the game. The trainer’s voice is sometimes there and sometimes it’s not. It’s not a big deal because it also has text to go along with the speech, it’s just a little odd and weird that they didn’t fix it. The other issue I’ve found is the game isn’t as accurate in registering lower body movements, particularly step-ups and step-backs... annoying when I’m challenging myself to get a perfect score. Overall, love Fitness Boxing and would absolutely recommend it for a fun, engaging way to get a little cardio and strength training in your life!
It did the trick and created a domino effect to keeping me on track with my diet, and soon got me into mixing more variety in my physical routine. It gets you sweating day one, but it makes sure to slowly ramp up how much its having you do. My first workout it read that I burned 333 calories, but my most recent ones burn more like 480 when doing a 45 minute daily work out with it. Of course that's tuned to your weight, height, and age by its system, but my Fitbit Versa is reading only a bit higher than it reading my heart rate.
Down side is I can see some of the in game comments getting annoying, hence why I try to space it out through the week and do walking and resistance days on other days. I also notice that it can be easy to cheat the sensors, so to keep up with it being effective, you have to be honest and try to follow their instructions. Finally, sometimes it can ignore my movements, but that could be my Joycons trying to be evil imps or something.
Overall it's a fun way to get a good round of cardio in. I'd adding other things to your weekly routine, but this is nice to do in the privacy of where ever you decide to play it and any exercise is better than nothing!
The game tells me I usually burn about 400 kcal or so in a 35 min workout, which is consistent with my watch. Not too shabby
