    Great legacy-style game for kids and adults alike!
    We've had a blast playing this game! The "play more to reveal more", or legacy-style, mechanic is very popular with modern board games and to see it implemented so well in a children's game is awesome! We're half way there and we dont plan on stopping!!

    I got this game because my cousin is 13 years old and there might be just enough time for him to enjoy the "kid" version of this. There is Zombie Teenz, but I wanted to play through this game while we still could. We play games regularly and his go-to game is Memoir '44. His thinking skills however still needs improvement, and my husband and I do not go easy on him. I thought it might be good to try some easier kid games, since we jumped into board games that I'm mainly interested in and mostly bypassed all the kid games.

    While playing, it seems that the game is below his level..but there were a few times where he didn't see the best moves when there were harder decisions to be made (to be fair, I turned my brain off so I didn't all the time either). So I might think that this is too easy for him and he might think the same...but there is still room for improvement. The game does ramp up when you open the envelopes.

    Either way, the game board is nicely made. The artwork is fantastic, "like it's from a movie". I love that the main characters are diverse and I definitely resonate with the chubby kid in terms of...no spoilers!

    I love that there are envelopes that need to be opened and stickers that need to be applied. The art design and layout is colorful and fun; I wish I had something like this when I was a kid! A lot of attention to detail and care went into the production and it really comes through.

    I have to have to be honest with the world: we did cheat. After the first game, I said, "Yeup, let's open the first envelope!". The initial game was way too easy for us to have to sit through and play the same way 5 times, I was sure our brains would turn to goop and we would join the zombie hoard.

    There are also missions in the book. You're only supposed to complete one mission per game...and I asked, "What proper game does that!?". Many games allow you to complete many missions in one round...so yes, we complete multiple missions per game. I think forcing yourself to play by the rules and only do one thing at a time or open an envelope after a certain time would kill the fun and would defeat the purpose of the game.

    We have played Pandemic Legacy and Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle, and those games we followed the rules. This game is simple enough that making it progress faster is just best for us.

    While I got this mainly because my cousin is 13 and he didn't seem to be having as much fun with the harder, more complex games we play, I think this would be best suited for elementary school kids, maybe 8-10 years old. Or maybe when they reach the age when they would not be traumatized by a zombie theme. It's also great, because it's supposed to take only 15 minutes, so it's something we can all play at the end of a weekday. Although, our last game, we wanted to complete a specific mission, so we ended up playing the game for 30-40 minutes.

    Overall, this is a nicely made game that adults and kids alike can appreciate and have fun with!

    Well worth the asking price.

    During Pandemic time in 2020, my kids lost a lot of activities and I tried hard to find something to keep them busy and entertained. This game is a great help! My 6 year old and 8 year old were able to play together independently without fighting! So some of the highlights of the game that me and my kids like about:
    1) Theme of zoombies (teacher and school) is very attractive, kids have fun looking at pictures of all zoombies evolved from teachers;
    2) co-op setting of the game is a win in my family. My 6 year old and 8 year old used to fight in a lot of games and one always end up with tears, since they want to win so badly. In this game, they win as a whole team. The "high-five" feature in this game when you lock a gate is great since that made them to celebrate with each other and be team players during the course of the game;
    3) Legacy style of the game is a new exciting introduction to kids. They are very excited to see the game evolved when they play more. Not to mention it is so much fun to collect all the stickers by trying to win trophies for various missions.
    4) The simple rules made it possible for kids to play independently. We have enjoyed other games such as pandemic, splendor, carcassonne, tickets to ride and labyrinth. But in most cases, I have to be one player and play with them. This is the game that kids felt they want to make progress when I am not available and they "want" to play by themselves. I think the passport and sticker collection is driving them that way, and I'm very happy to see them motivated so strongly.

    Overall, an outstanding co-op legacy game for my kids (6 and 8), not sure if teenagers will like it, since the rules are very simple.
    PS: My kids already see the zoombie teens game and we will order it once it's available.

    My kids (6 and 8) loved this game. We just finished unlocking all the extra stuff this game has to offer. It kept the game interesting and my kids coming back for more! My kids often get bored of a game after a few playthroughs, but this kept their attention for months! Each game isn't terribly long (shorter than a game of Candy Land) and it requires some planning, especially as the game gets harder the more you unlock.

    This game is a ton of fun and easy to learn. My 6 yo is fully able to comprehend all the strategy and make good decisions, and she absolutely loves to play! 5.0 out of 5 stars Fun even when you lose, but difficulty ramps up
    Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 27, 2024
    I played quite a few games of this with my children (6 and 9). The youngest often struggles with losing. However, because you add progress stickers even when you lose, and unlock new features, it didn't bother him at all when we lost - which happened often. The basic game is simple but still fun. It would get a bit boring, but the unlocked features add interest.

    The difficulty does ramp up quite quickly though. At first, you're adding 1 zombie per round, but can remove 2 if you're positioned in the right place. But after the first couple of unlocked "powers", you're adding two zombies every round and not guaranteed to remove two. So at best your maintaining, and more likely slowly getting overwhelmed. You can always just choose to leave the unlocked features in the box though.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Un juego genial para los pequños del hogar
    Reviewed in Mexico on August 9, 2020
    Este es un juego muy divertido, sencillo y rápido, que invita a seguirlo jugando con su mecanismo Legacy que creo hasta ahora es el primer juego de niños de este tipo, el cual permite mediante calcomanias y sobres cerrados ir cambiando el juego mientras más lo juegas, por ejemplo, después de jugar 5 juegos liberas nuevos poderes de uno de los personajes; también contiene logros y algo que creo llaman pasaporte, donde el niño propietario pone sus datos y les pone nombre a todos los personajes que aparecen en el juego. Ampliamente recomendado. Como dato adicional, cada juego dura de 10 a 15 minutos.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Unique, easy to learn, good for age 7+ I would say
    Reviewed in Canada on March 28, 2020
    I think, even though I buy something on amazon probably every day on average, this is the first time I have written a review! I feel compelled to write a review because this game is done amazingly well.
    First off we are a married couple with an 8 year old boy and an obsession with board games. Probably have 100? Focused on family games with our son. There are some great games out there.
    This one stands out because it is unique in many ways. The game CHANGES as you play! They give you many envelopes (can’t remember exact number maybe 13?). You work through different levels and every 5 or so games you play, you open a new envelope with instructions to level up! So this game is perfect for a family where you will be encouraged to keep playing the game time and time again! The actual instruction booklet is a fun little booklet to work through, adding a zombie brain if you lose a game or a trophy sticker if you win, as you progress through more games, keeping track when to open the next envelope. We made a deal that we would only open the next envelope if we WON more times than we lost on a level. It’s a cooperative game: family against zombies. Either they win or you win. This is great for my competitive son so sometimes gets too mad if he loses a game. If we ALL lose (as a family) he seems to take it better.
    The envelopes contain new stickers and goals to add to your booklet. My son finds it fun and exciting. We are playing about 5 games (one level) per night.
    I would like to see what other games (if any?) these people have made, because they put a lot of thought into their games.
    Well done! We are very happy customers!

    Comme beaucoup je n’avais pas vu que le jeu est en anglais (non précisé dans la description). Heureusement je suis bilingue donc ce n’est pas trop handicapant mais j’aurais aimé que mon fils lise les enveloppes tout seul. À part ça mes 2 garçons de 5 et 7 ans adorent, le coté évolutif est très motivant pour enchainer les parties.
