I had my doubts when ordering this, but I am very happy that this did, in fact, turned out to be the real iPad smart cover from Apple. The quality is great, and it works fine (the magnet, on/off when the cover is open or closed).The only problem I had with this, is that it isn't very sturdy, but I expected that from past experiences with Apple's smart covers. Overall, this was worth it and it does its job. I recommend getting it here since it's on sale now as opposed to Apple's price (which always remains the same).

This was a fraction of the price the apple store was charging and it works like a charm! Unfortunately you can't put a back case on if you use this magnet cover but the magnets are really strong and the cover holds up well. We haven't had it long so I am not sure how durable it is or if it will get dirty and smudge.

Although other third-party sellers on Amazon priced this much lower, I bought the $31 cover sold by Amazon because I hope Amazon doesn't sell counterfeit products. Nevertheless this product arrived without its original packaging, wrapped only in a plastic bag.

As for the cover itself, I'd rate it 4 stars for the exceedingly slim form, the strength of the magnets, and its fair sturdiness as a stand. However, I subtracted 1 star because the color I received was not the same pretty coral pink that appears in the photo, but a bubblegum pink instead.

I was very pleased with this smart cover -- the yellow cover is very attractive. It's minimal and adds no bulk at all to the iPad mini, while protecting the front glass.

The smart cover does just as it claims, turning on and off the iPad as you open and close the cover. No complaints there.

The only reason I gave the cover 4 stars instead of 5 is that the cover gets in the way in the worst way when you're trying to take a picture. Folded back, it covers the lens, and there's no getting around that, so I'm always lifting it and it's awkward. Perhaps an adjustment to keep in mind for a future version.

This is really all you need when it comes to protecting your iPad. It really is the perfect companion for the iPad. You'll be so used to it within just a couple days of using it, you won't remember how it was before you used the Smart Cover.

You'll never touch the lock button on top again, as this wakes the iPad from sleep when pulling open. You can "peek" at your notifications by just lifting it off for a second, and then just let it snap back. The magnets are extremely strong, but not to the point where it's impossible to take off. It really seems like the perfect balance of magnet strength.

The cover also doubles as a stand. It's not as useful as I had thought, but certainly comes in handy. The killer feature being that this will be on your iPad 99.9% of the time, so it's there when you need it, and never in the way when you don't.

There's a real difference between the knockoffs and the genuine Apple cover. The mini cover is cheap enough on Amazon that the risk isn't even worth getting a terrible copy. Go for the real thing, and you will not be disappointed.

This is a knockoff!! This is not an original Apple ipad mini smart cover. I have the blue one from Apple and all of there smart covers and smart cases come in a nice apple clear box. This came folded up in a cheap plastic bag!! There is also a difference in the material and feel from the originals. I went back to apple and purchased the original one much better quality.
