  • Product Description

Tamron's SP 85mm F/1.8 Di VC USD is the world’s first 85mm f1.8 lens with VC (Vibration Compensation). The lens uses Low and Extra Low Dispersion glass elements in the optical design to minimise colour fringing and to achieve outstanding sharpness and clarity, plus Tamron’s Fluorine coating has been applied to the front element to help repel water & oil, which makes the front element easy to keep clean & condensation free. In addition this new lens is constructed with Tamron’s NEW SP design, incorporating a new look & feel which includes larger and more tactile switches, together with Moisture-Resistant Construction to give photographers the confidence to use the lens in more wide ranging scenarios. VC is also included in the lens design to help reduce camera shake, making it easy to take handheld photographs in low light & ensure images shot in challenging situations are sharp, even with the highest pixel density sensors. USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) focusing is also a key part in delivering sharp and precise focus every time, with Full time manual override for extra creative control. Combined with the F/1.8 aperture this enables photographers to create great sharp images at maximum aperture with amazing background blur (bokeh). Photographers can also update firmware, customize autofocus positions and adjust the mechanical setup and preferences of the lens by simply attaching it to the optional TAMRON TAP-in Console. Filter Size: 67mm, Length (from camera mount): 91.3mm, Diameter: 84.8mm, VC gives 3.5-stop handling advantage (sharp images 3.5 shutter speeds lower), Maximum aperture: F/1.8, Minimum aperture F/16, Diaphragm: 9 rounded blades, Lens Construction: 13 elements in 9 groups, Ultrasonic Silent Drive (USD) a quiet high-torque USD motor ensures fast & accurate AF response, Minimum Focus Distance: 0.8m, Max. Magnification Ratio 1:7.2, Full-time manual focus override, Angle of View (diagonal): 28 degrees 33' (full-frame format), 18 degrees 39' (APS-C format)

Es un objetivo que me ha encantado. Gran bokeh, gran nitidez... Perfecto para mi full frame.

5.0 out of 5 stars Starker Bildstabi und extreme Schärfe - für mich Preis/Leistungs-Sieger
Reviewed in Germany on November 22, 2018
    Style: CanonVerified Purchase

    + 5 Jahre Garantie

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect 85mm - Portraits, Products, Flowers! Flawless performance.
Reviewed in India on November 1, 2018
    Style: CanonVerified Purchase
This lens is a work of art - beautiful to look at and fantastic to use. The only 85mm lenses in the same class are the Zeiss lenses (at twice the price and without stabilization), and the Canon 85mm 1.4 L (again, at more than twice the price). The f/1.8 aperture makes critical depth of field control possible, and sharpness, even wide open at f/1.8, is absolutely amazing with CA and purple fringing wonderfully controlled. Focusing is fast, silent, silky smooth and super-accurate, and manual over-ride in A/F allows precision selective focus for portraiture.. The VC (Vibration Compensation) is similar to VR, OS and IS from other manufacturers and is extremely effective. I have shot perfectly sharp handheld pics at 1/15th second! I must also mention that images taken with this lens have a rich, beautiful colour palette. Overall, an outstanding professional lens at a very reasonable price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning results!

I have watched reviews about this lens before finally purchasing and it did not disappoint. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now with my Canon EOS R and the results are awesome. I'm sharing some of the unedited photos for others to use as a reference. The lens is fast and the focus breathing is not noticeable. Although there are small dusts on the glass, it does not really affect the final image. I have not tested it yet though on long exposure shot which will probably show the dust in post-process.

But I'm a really happy with my copy of the lens. Worth buying!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ottima ottica per ritratti con un grande plus: lo stabilizzatore!
Reviewed in Italy on November 13, 2017
