Honestly not much to say here but I've always been a fan of Seagate and they make perfect hard drives. If you have issues it most definitely would be defect or shipping issue. If you have that issue I'm sure Seagate and or Amazon can sort that out for you. I've been with Seagate for years and I don't think they've ever failed me.

It's very noisy, which concerns me. Only time will tell if the drive is durable. I've never had a Seagate drive fail on me, but I have had other brands fail. So I base my purchase on this experience.
