I've used several of these types of orange juicers at work and read several of the reviews for the various models on the Amazon website. The SMEG 50 caught my eye because of the elegant design. It was more expensive than most, but the reviews were good. If I didn't like it I could easily return the item. I've had this now for two weeks and this is by far the best juicer out there. It's easy to clean, simple to use, the parts are durable, and it looks cool. I don't mind paying more for an item if I think the quality is better than competing products. I believe, based on the quality, this juicer will hold up longer than any of the others. In this case I got what I paid for. A good value. This is my 2 cent review.

If you have your own citrus grove and want something that will juice 30+ oranges in one shot, you should probably invest in a commercial juicer. This isn’t that type of workhorse—I would think that would be obvious…Says right in the manual not to operate for over 3 minutes of continuous use.
Whether this juicer is over-priced is debatable. For some of us, there is enjoyment in owning a smartly-designed appliance that’s attractive enough to be displayed on the countertop. My old manual citrus press could continue to be adequate for my purposes, sure. But my Smeg juicer and kettle brighten my mornings and are a joy to use.
Yes, some parts of the juicer are plastic, but knowing that citrus can be corrosive to metal, it makes sense to me that the spout hinge and catch container are plastic…
I also don’t experience any instability at all, during use. The four rubber feet keep the unit firmly in place, no matter how hard I press down the fruit or angle it. I suppose if the cord isn’t wound or placed correctly it could make things wobbly, but that’s easily remedied.

I got for my husband but I make fresh squeezed orange juice for myself everyday since I gave it to him. I use just one orange which makes just the amount I want. Cleanup is easy. Parts aren’t supposed to go in dishwasher, but rinse clean if done right away.

This citrus juicer is very well designed. Pressing a citrus half onto the reamer turns it on. The juice falls into a strainer and pours out of a spout. Lifting the citrus half from the reamer turns it off. Cleanup is VERY fast. Remove the reamer, strainer, and a pan that sits under the reamer, rinse each piece, and put them back: about 30 seconds in total. It lacks a pulp control feature, which for me, is not a deal breaker, however, there is a small amount of pulp in the juice. Those wanting zero pulp or a lot of pulp should probably look elsewhere.

Not powerful enough, needs a lot of force and pressure on my hands for simple juice extraction, very slow to rotate, gets clogged up soon, plastic parts are flimsy ( tip where juice comes out is already broken and used not even a month ). If I had the original box would return.Dissapointed

We've had the SMEG juicer for about a month now.
We've used it with all types of citrus (Lime, lemon, orange and grapefruit...) and find it works well with all.
Very easy to use and clean.
The unit appears powerful enough to last, so we're looking for many years of service out of it.
More expensive than most brands but we trust it is worth the extra for the performance it offers.

The is the best juicer out there. It looks fabulous and it's very heavy duty. It's easy to clean and you really get the best out of the fruit being juiced. Really great quality, get one if you are thinking of getting a juicer like that!
