Disclaimer: I traded a controller with a friend therefore note the US SNES controller was not included. Also note the EURO controller is different and doesn’t have the concaves X & Y buttons, I didn’t like that which is why I traded one of them.Don’t give in to scalpers, I paid an additional $10 on the price of the regular US SNES classic which isn’t bad considering this version isn’t easily available, but certain vendors are raising the price to ridiculous proportions. Just beware and shop around.Decent effort by Nintendo, just know your childhood isn’t as great as you think it was in retrospect. Games like Star Fox are very archaic and almost annoying to play, I fairly enjoy the SNES classic as a whole for what it is though.I’m more happy about the fact that I didn’t get scammed. The EURO version just looks so much better so I don’t mind the mark up in price.Power wise this unit works fine with my cell phone power brick, the electrical specifications are stated on the box.I’ve seen folks complain about controller wire length but I like it, it’s part of the nostalgia, just sit on the floor any play, plus the short cable makes it easier to reach the reset button for when u want to rewind a game.Now what you really want to know. (allegedly)This European version is able to play US roms (not that I would know anything about that first hand). So no worries about all that PAL and NTSC rigamaroo, I don’t even know the difference I’ve never been to Europe, I believe the only issue presents itself with the Japanese Famicon version.Simple and easy you don’t have to be technologically inclined.

This little beast is worth every penny! Games play EXACTLY like the original and there seems to be zero input lag between it and every HDTV I have hooked it up to. Also hooked it up to a 34" 4K gaming monitor and video and audio worked great. Video scaling is perfect via the included HDMI cable and as far as power goes, it comes with a micro USB cable but no adapter. If you have owned a cell phone in the last 10 years you should have one that works laying around. I have found it works fine with an old 5w, 0.15amp charger! I was about to throw out all of my adapters that put out less than 1.0 amp but now I'll just hold onto them! It comes with 21 pretty good games, but they only take up about 15-20% of the storage capacity. Enter HACKCHI. This free emulator allows you to install any SNES game ever released, as well as a TON of betas and hacked versions of classic (and not so classic...) games. Instructions are easy to find with a simple "add games to SNES mini" googie search. Using Hackchi you can also add emulators for many other systems. I am playing the Gensis original Sonic on mine now. It will play almost anything from the 16-bit era, and more than a few from the 32-bit era -even a few N64 and Saturn games depending on the title. I could not be happier to introduce my 5-year-old to Super Mario Brothers and the original R-Rtype! It turns out throwing the controller is not a behavior that has to be learned! :) If you are interested but have doubts, just buy it and be amazed.

For it's time the SNES was perhaps the best console of all time. Competition from SEGA put Nintendo on their toes. Capcom, Konami, square enix, and Nintendo released many of their best games this generation. Unlike the most consoles of the 90s this system has aged well. So this system is a throw back to the PLAY IT LOUD time of Nintendo.
So what do you get? Well the euro version is internally the same as the US, but you do not get a power supply(any 5v USB tablet/phone will do) and a far more handsome design. So unlike original pal versions of snes games this runs at full 60hz/60fps. It also upscale to 720p, though 1080p or 4k would be nice I dought the hardware could do it with mode 7. Speaking of hardware the internal storage is 100% the same as the NES classic. It also has 246mb of free space. So with modding you can easily add 70+ more games with room for save states.
The controllers feel great. Button presses are super satisfying and every plastic part feels good for what it is. I've got only two gripes. One the length of the wire controllers; two to plug in the controllers you must fold down the dummy control ports. It's an odd design.
Look this is simple and fun for my kids and myself. It's easy to use, and easy to modify. It's so much more convenient to my old snes. And better quality than a raspberry pie case. The euro version looks so much better than the box America got. It's been well worth it for me and the games are timeless.

I received the European version as advertised. This version contains the same games as the North American version and functions exactly the same. One difference is that this does not contain a USB wall adapter. Which is not a big deal (doesn’t everybody have a dozen spares laying around anyway). I just plug the USB cord into once of the ports and my TV and it is able to power the system.

The game selection is fantastic. This is a great value in it self. If you were to buy the games used along with a used SNES it would probably cost 2 to three times the cost of this system at the very least. Also you get the previously unreleased Star Fox 2 with the SNES Classic.

I am no tech expert, but I can not tell the difference between playing the games on the SNES Classic than when I did on the original system 20+ years ago. It is just like the good old days. This time around you have the ability to save your progress anywhere in the game by pressing the reset button and saving the state. I don’t use this feature but it is cool to have.

Could be more happy with the purchase.

This is perfect for having friends over and play with clueless grandparents, a great gift for a young kid (7 in my case) that wants a PS4 or X-box console because all the older kids/brothers play on one, but still hasn't got the finger/eye coordination for serious gaming, or the maturity to get killed or see explicit violence and use voice comms without getting frustrated or scared later on. This is definitely the family-friendly console of your early childhood.

As a con, I do see the list of games getting old pretty fast since you can't add more games easily, but he'll definitely outgrow it by that time and it will be still a fantastic re-gift for younger cousins/friends if it's durable enough (and so far everything seems to indicate it will).

I went back and forth over getting this for awhile. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to save my games and if not then what was the point. But you can save games! At least in Mario that’s all I have tried so far lol works amazing. Lots of fun. I would recommend the controller attachments to make the cords longer tho. Reliving my childhood these days!
