All in all I like this dashcam. It serves its purpose.
Before buying this dashcam, I used another one (from a company that starts with the letter V), and that one failed many times. I like this dashcam because it is reliable and hasn't failed yet. We have them in all 3 of our cars, after having two accidents in the past year where the other drivers denied it was their fault when it was. We use 128 GB Samsung Evo SD cards and they work perfectly without failing. With this dashcam I found that the video could have more clarity and better resolution, especially when it comes to license plates. Also, at night, oncoming headlight glare causes a whiteout, and in sunlight there is a glare (see photos I've uploaded). So, basically with this dashcam you can see WHAT happens... you just can't see WHO (license plates) many times. So it will mainly give you an account of what happened in an accident, that's all. I look at it that way. Hopefully one with better/clearer resolution will come along to replace this. But in the meantime, it is serving its purpose. The app lets you download videos to your phone, but I found that you must disable your mobile data on your phone first before connecting to the dashcam's wi-fi, or it won't connect. When the weather is perfect and all the stars align you can get a good resolution video, though. I'm uploading a sample video that my cam caught, which is pretty amusing (I sped it up and added music. NO idea what was going on back there, LOL! But a good sample of the rear camera's video resolution -- which is pretty good). Enjoy!

The build quality is terrific on both cameras as well as the wiring. Overall, installation was very easy and both cameras feel very secure. The camera footage quality is terrific, both night and day. In the rain it is problematic to make out license plates, but I think that is not so much the cameras fault. I have the cameras set to the highest bitrate, the unit does get hot when it's 85*F plus out, but otherwise are only warm to the touch. My only complaint about the whole system is that the app experience is not the most intuitive, but it's not terrible. The WIFI has worked well for me so far, but is very slow for the large front-camera files.

My co-workers have a few of the cheaper two-channel systems and they do not compare in terms of 1080p footage quality, they also do not have warnings for if the SD card has died or rear camera lights so you can determine that it's actually recording at a glance.

I have the rear camera attached to the plastic on my SUV's rear door to avoid damaging my tints, for this I had to mount it upside down but the app has a feature to automatically flip the video footage, which is convenient. I did a self install, the unit comes with five wire management adhesives, making it really easy to organize what wires are visible and hide the rest. There are a lot of YouTube videos that can help with this.

Been researching for the right dash cam and this is the 2nd camera I brought. First camera (different brand) I had to return, not satisfy with stability. The DR750S-2CH is much better.

RIght out of the box the camera looks top notch. Everything is packed and labeled perfectly and ooze fine workmanship. Paying a premium as dashcam freqently goes for under $100 these days but you can feel right away it is worth it in terms of design and quality.

Setup is not hard, but yet not easy - took about 40 mins for me to hide the cable properly as there are 2 cameras to setup. My BMW does not have cigarette adapter so I also brought a ODB2 port adapter from BackVue website - fits perfectly.

Using app to setup camera was super easy, and very happy with image quality and stability of the app and camera.

Good construction, installation isn't too bad if you view it as a hobby/project (front & rear camera), camera quality is great so far. Nicely tucks behind the rear-view mirror, even with the bulky OEM installed camera right next to it (Gen 3 Toyota Tacoma).

The setup interface on the app is a bit tricky, they don't define what all the stuff means and the manual is lacking. Google is your best bet. The auto recording sensitivity is too sensitive, and it's hard to tell which g-sensor to desensitize to prevent erroneous recordings, I could probably figure it out with the computer program by viewing the isolating the individual sensor data, but I don't want to pull the SD card and go through all that trouble. Isn't entirely clear what is a "normal" event, and various settings aren't well explained in the app so you have to research them. Once you learn it and set it up as you like it, you're good to go. Downloading to app is pretty good and I've had no problems with the direct-Wifi.

I bought this dashcam for the front and rear camera. For some reason, the WiFi is not reliable and and the rear camera would not work even after changing the cable twice. I contact Blackvue and their warranty service was horrible. It’s nearly impossible to contact anyone that can help fix the problem. Not recommended unless you want an unreliable camera when you really need it.

The video quality, front & rear is pretty good. It's pricey, but I think the build quality, cloud access & WiFi features are what drives the price up. I love the ability to check on what''s going on around my car, wherever I park it, by checking my phone. You'll need a mobile hot spot for that. It stealth, not easily seen, and the notification lights can be turned off. The park mode is very reliable. Lots of other cool little features, that makes it a fun toy, if you're into that sort a thing. I'm enjoying my new dash cam. Works like a charm every time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality camera that you can "hide" from view
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 11, 2019
Picture quality is as good as you can get for a windscreen-mounted camera. The WiFi interface is slow - possibly as a consequence of the files being large, which is itself a consequence of having good quality video - so the best way to review pictures is to remove the micro-SD card and play it from a PC (or copy it).

Clips are saved as 1-min files. I originally thought this was a pain but the speed of copying files makes this a sensible compromise.

The shape of the camera means I can "hide" it in front of my rear view mirror, and the rear camera is small enough that it simply doesn't get in the way at all. Don't be fooled into buying a dashcam with a built-in screen. Those small screens are absolutely useless at showing you whether you have captured the detail you need, so why bother having them? They make the cameras bigger and the screens are a distraction when you're driving. Complete waste of time. I always know when I see one in a car that the owner did absolutely no research before buying one.

Cabling up the BlackVue is, of course, a piece of work. I managed to locate the rear camera cable above the headlining, along its edges, levering the door rubbers away slightly and using the included plastic spudger tool so I didn't damage anything.

On my Merc GL, the hardest part was to thread the cable through the concertina hose leading to the tailgate. For this, I taped the end of the cable to a large tie-wrap and pushed it through this way, patiently squeezing and releasing the hose to help the tie-wrap through. It takes a long time but now that it's all working, it was worthwhile.

Powering the camera was another piece of work which involves a separately-purchased box (PowerMagic) that compares the voltage of your battery to ensure the camera doesn't kill your battery. the camera detects the lack of movement and enters parking mode, which is a lower power consumption mode but even so, you might want to consider the PowerMagic box. That said, my camera switches off very soon after I turn off the car engine. I suspect my battery may not be in great health even though it starts my engine with conviction every time. There is an accessories battery alongside my starter battery but that too seems to work faultlessly. So I don't know why my camera won't stay on. I have been tempted to remove the PowerMagic box and just wire the camera directly into the battery however I do know that is just tempting fate and I'll find myself with insufficient charge to start my car one day.

Anyway, the main thing to consider when you buy a dashcam is whether you can read registration plates and see the detail of faces captured. If you can't then there's probably not much point in it. These BlackVue cameras are the sort of quality everyone else wishes they had but please test fit the camera before permanently locating it because in some cars, the windscreen curve will lead your camera to point off to one side, or dashboard reflections will spoil the captured video.

5.0 out of 5 stars Una delle migliori dashcam in commercio
Reviewed in Italy on June 23, 2018
