The premise is simple - you pick to play as a solo player, as a duo or as a squad (maximum of 4) and are flown over a huge island where you jump out at a time of your choosing. With nothing but the clothes on your back, you parachute down, landing where you please, in search for gear, weapons and vehicles in order to compete against the 99 other players who, along with yourself, are out to kill each other until only one player/duo/squad is left standing. Players could just hide without killing anyone so the game would go on for hours BUT this isn't the case! There's a play area radius that, over a couple of decently timed intervals, gets smaller and smaller until there is only a small area for the remaining to battle and if you're outside of this play area you have to outrun the "blue wall of death" until you reach the new play area radius. Oh, and there's also random red circle radius' which gets bombed and your only saviour is running out of the radius or hiding inside a building (STAY AWAY FROM THE WINDOWS!)
So far I have played a dozen games in solo and duo with zero bugs or glitches occurring and only the slightest bit of lag on the very rare occasion. The graphics aren't the best but I'm a firm believer on gameplay enjoyability over how the game looks and this certainly delivers an enjoyable experience. One of the the only problems I have with this game is the controller layout, it's very weird and quite difficult to get used to a first but I found after a couple of games I was acquainted enough with the controller scheme to effectively play the game and navigate the inventory.
One of the plus points of a game like PUBG is that it's heavily influenced by community feedback, the developers are always looking to the forums for things that need improving and great ideas that could be implemented. Something you don't get with massive companies!
This game is set to only get better and better and I'm looking forward to many hours of playing with my friends and seeing what they do to this game in the future. I seriously recommend this for a group of friends who just want a game to have fun on and have a laugh!
As someone who does't have the time/money to invest in a high-end PC I was pleased when this game was announced as I was keen to have a go at it, the premise is simple enough, 100 players drop in 1 player/pair/team survive and win! The map itself is huge with plenty of areas to loot so you get a fair chance at the minimum, the game is slow-paced to start, but obviously picks up once the map forces you closer together, vehicles are available to cover large distances as the risk of exposing yourself due to the noise produced. You can honestly play how you prefer, go for kills and play aggressive, or avoid conflict until it's essential, there's no "right or wrong" way to play the game.
Obviously this game is still in it's early stages so do not expect a flawless experience right off the bat, the rendering/frame rate struggles when you first eject from the plane, and the movement is still a bit jaded when sprinting or vaulting, the aiming also seems indifferent at times so be prepared to be patient.
Also I'd recommend looking up the controls before jumping into a game, some buttons aren't what you'd expect them to be and it took me a few games to start to get to grips with them, again I'd just say be prepared to be a little bit patient.
Overall I'd simply say judge this game on it's own, comparisons to Fortnite just seems odd, I've played/love Fortnite but the only similarity is it's 100 PvP, everything else is different and I enjoy both games for their own reasons. If you wan't an online game that forces you to think a little bit more and takes time/effort to grow into, then this is the game for you!
