I'd heard about NITW years ago and would see art of it online but never bothered to pick it up. Bought it on sale, figured I'd give this a try. Went into this game knowing nothing about it, and now it's one of my all time favorites. It's the perf game to play during the fall or "spooky season", with how cozy yet dark the game gets sometimes. Its fun easy, to pick up yet after everything it sticks with you. I'm on my 3rd play-through and still can't put it down!

NITW isn't for everyone however. The closest thing I could compare it to (based on feels/vibes alone) would probably be Over the Garden Wall (which tbf, I thought was mid. NITW takes your expectations of this being yet another "spooky" game and flips them. The dark themes makes you ponder your experiences and interactions you've had. The characters are wonderful and each have immense personality and fun. There's at least one person (or thing) in NITW that someone can relate to.

Even if you're the slightest bit curious go ahead and check it out. The game may appear small and simple, but the creative lore and effort put into this game make it worth it! Also, Greg rules OK?

This is the first game I picked up for the Switch, I'm only on Part II so far and I am not disappointed. It's a very laid-back game that's very visually pleasing. It's delightfully quirky, humorous, and creepy at times. It's a lot of fun to run around the town on the power lines, talk to people, and discover new things to write in your journal. The dialogue with the characters you meet is great fun and the mini games (like playing your bass or playing a game on your laptop) are a lot of fun in themselves too. Would highly recommend for those looking for a good story with good visuals and relaxed gameplay.

This is a beautiful game that was very enjoyable. Thematically, it addresses depression and loss, and that specific nostalgia for childhood that young adults experience. It is slightly darkish in places, but the snarky, loopy humor keeps it from ever being too dark. It's a story-driven game with a nice amount of character development. It doesn't require much coordination to get through the mini-games or required activities. Most of the gameplay is spent moving around and talking to other characters. I highly recommend it.

My family, 2 adults and 2 teenagers, like to play together. One person plays and the others watch and help choose what Mae, the main character, does. This game is like watching an interactive graphic novel. My younger son, who is more of a gamer, will also play Mae's video game on her computer as well. Interesting, creative and fun, but probably for older children as some situations involving alcohol and shoplifting. These make for good family discussions.

The download code worked perfectly and the game itself is wonderful. Simple game play with a well written short story. The characters are charming and their dialog is sharp and witty. It draws you in, and before you know it, you are deeply invested. I played it though 3 times before I got bored with it, then came back to it after 2 weeks, only to be charmed by it again.
