Okay, so, lets start with the price tag. As of writing this update, the monitor is at $2,000. I purchased this for $1,200 only a few months ago. I don't suggest spending $2,000 on a monitor no matter how nice it is. I still struggle with myself for spending just $1,200 on it. The combined features in this monitor are unique, but they will not stay that way for much longer. I would expect actual competition in this space within the next year or two, and thus lower prices.
That said, this monitor absolutely blows me away. Even through a recent financial hardship that saw me itemizing things to sell for quick relief, I still couldn't let this one go. The 4k quality is of course crisp, the refresh rate is high, gsync works flawlessly, the full array backlight is decent, and the HDR implementation literally has no match within the gaming monitor space. The 1100 nit peak brightness combined with a QDot layer for color enhancement allows for the full effects of HDR to be taken advantage of, and it is simply beautiful in games like Far Cry New Dawn. Bring all of these features together, and your mind will be blown.
I have a second, normal, monitor next to this one and sometimes I like to find an HDR video and play it back on both screens at the same time to compare. The difference is almost always immediately visible, as on a normal monitor the darker colors get washed out and the brightest colors look dull in comparison. That's to say, this monitor allows you to have (almost) true black and true white on the screen at the same time. It's not something that you can really show off on a standard monitor, it's something you have to see in real life. Kind of like 144hz, you simply cannot reproduce it on a standard monitor. The colors are so vibrant, lights are actually bright like lights, sometimes I squint when I walk outside from a dark area in a game just like in real life.
Now, something to keep in mind is that this monitor and HDR on PC in general is still enthusiast-tier technology. Meaning that it's not a simple plug-n-play solution. Before I bought this monitor, all I knew about HDR was that it looked pretty on my friend's TV. After a few months of ownership of this monitor, I could probably call myself an expert on how monitors and colorspaces work. You may have to do a lot of research to fully understand the features on this monitor and work your way through technical issues and limitations. I really can't stress that enough, if you just plug this in and expect everything to work flawlessly and look super nice, you're going to have a bad time.
All in all, I am very happy with my purchase. This monitor blew me away like no other has before.
The bottom line is these monitors are the perfect match for a high end system. If you're going to put the money into your system you deserve to be able to see what you paid for.
I took away a star because it only lasted 4 years. For the price, I was hoping it would've last longer. I'm not exactly sure what failed on it, but the monitor just stopped detecting input. It didn't matter if I was display port or HDMI, it wouldn't turn on. Previously, I was having an intermittent input detection issue where it would just cut to black for several seconds. I used various cords and various ports from my graphics card to no avail. Those same cords and ports work just fine on my other monitors. Great product, just wish it lasted longer

Short of an OLED display it doesn't get better than this right now and probably won't for a while.
Yeah you pretty much need an RTX 2080 Ti or titan to really take advantage of the 4k resolution which I have the former. But even 2k looks good on the monitor which I can run all games at with an RTX 2080 ti.
Also it is technically a gaming monitor so image response time and input lag is also very good. Don't have measurements but they're out there to find.
Took off a star from picture quality because of 3 not so huge reasons. One is that there is some slight uniformity issues that really I've seen from pretty much every monitor I've owned but still it's unfortunate to see them again still, especially being such an expensive monitor. The uniformity issues are that there is some very slight backlight bleed on some of the sides. Also a bit of IPS glow mostly noticeable top left but even overall almost the whole left side looks like it's glowing a but brighter than the right. I've seen this with every IPS monitor I've owned with slight variations. ALTHOUGH, with FALD enabled it makes these issues (the bleed and IPS glow) almost completely unnoticeable. And really there isn't any reason to ever disable FALD unless you're doing something like photo editing.
The second reason is that there is some blooming caused from the FALD in really dark backgrounds with small brighter spots like when your mouse cursor or text is on a full black background. There are not too many situations where this is noticeable though and it's just something a limitation of FALD atm. It would take a fair amount more dimming zones to fix it.
Now for the third is that when overclocked to 144hz there is some color compression going on but the only time I noticed it was with SDR text when HDR was enabled. It's really not noticeable 99% of the time.
In conclusion, being that is has 384 FALD zones and is an IPS display, this monitor has unmatched picture quality for it's type. By like, a lot. It's definitely worth it if you have an RTX 2080 Ti.
If I'd have to be honest though it's probably better to get the Ultra Wide 35" version of this monitor and I might have gotten it instead if it wasn't over $1000 more. If you have the money and the desk space though I'd get that one over this one.
One more negative I'll throw out there is that I don't like the stand design for it. Very non practical. Highly recommend a 3rd party stand or mounting option.
UPDATE:
So it looks like there is a newer version of this monitor coming out some time this year with more dimming zones. I would probably wait for that. The new model is the PG27UQX.
**Vale la pena comprarlo si tienes la tarjeta ( o las tarjetas) de vídeo que puedan darte la calidad visual de la altura de este monitor.
This screen is BRIGHT. (which apparently is key to making HDR useful and look good, and it looks amazing)
Couple of notes to point out as of November / 2019 (time of writing the review) for this monitor:
The active cooling fan is no where as 'annoying' as people claim.. I run an air cooled system and a hepa filter in my room I cannot even tell that there is active cooling on this, unless you have a complete silent build (passive cooled) I couldn't see you even telling this is active cooled.
Do note to get 144hz you need to enable overclocking, which might be the fan noise people are complaining about. However unless you are running 4k beyond 120 fps there is no reason to overclock to 144hz.
- For full 10 bit color depth the max refresh you can run this monitor at is 98hz (or max 98 fps displayed) (not 144hz)
- 120 hz is the native refresh rate on the monitor, which you run with 8+2 bit color (over display port only of course) this is viable as there's no notable image quality loss to me between 10 bit vs 8+2bit
- 144 hz 4k is possible, it is considered overclocking the monitor.. however you drop to 8+2bit color AND 4:2:2 chroma subsampling most say they can't notice it, but especially on text to me it's completely garbage, it looks like your using 80-90's style 3d glasses on most text displayed.
TLDR: 98hz for max quality @ 2160 (4k), 120hz for un-noticeable image quality, 144 hz quality is pure garbage. Consider this a 120hz gaming monitor, 98hz if your a color snob like myself.
The other point is finding a modern day video card that can run gsync hdr, possibly ray-tracing and 4k resolution beyond 120 fps. (hint: no card currently exists)
However you are definatley able to make sure the panel isn't easily obsolete anytime soon. definatley future proofing yourself here.
On to the RMA hell:
My monitor arrived with 7+ bright pixels (how did Q/C miss this???) image should be attached from a cellphone pic of the monitor. Now 7-9 ish pixels is hardly noticeable to the naked eye at 4k most of the time, but when you see it. you cannot unsee it. and at a 2,000cdn + tax monitor this shouldn't be happening.
I'm current in a RMA queue with Asus, they claim they 'have no more stock' of these monitors, are they limited run? discontinued? I have no idea, regardless I'm currently unable to get a replacement unit as Asus claims to have no more of these monitors in stock. (odd)
All said and done despite the minor nightmare of spending 2 grand on a monitor with not even dead but bright pixels is just not acceptable, I don't know if it's a shipping issue, or a Q/C at asus issue, but your premium products should be premium.
Conclusions:
I would get this monitor again at a discount if given the chance provided I can actually get a working non defective panel.
Will have to wait for the 30 series Nvidia cards or hopefully AMD to pull another trick out of their sleeve in the GPU market to properly drive this thing, but defect aside it looks amazing, and out of the box color accuracy is very very good) IPS glow very minimal aswell.

No regrets purchasing this monitor. Highly recommend!
