Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I ordered this even seeing the significant number of reviews complaining that the speaker won't charge. It would seem unlikely that this specific color would have issues when other colors don't, so I wasn't overly concerned.
Sure enough, just like others, mine wouldn't charge. After one hour charging with the OEM charger it still read (in the app) critical battery. Figured I'd try a different charger, no go. So... I did a little interweb searching and found that, if the battery is basically completely discharged it might not charge without doing a factory reset. Makes sense that the Cloud version would be completely discharged since it's an older, discontinued model. I factory reset it (power button and volume down for roughly 10 seconds until it makes a sound and turns off), turned it back on, and lo and behold, I had 20% battery. I immediately updated the firmware (that may be the issue, per my perusal) and it continued to charge all the way to 100%.
No comment on the sound quality as I think bluetooth speakers in general sound terrible (I bought it for the form factor to use in the shower). I like that the volume buttons are large (although only the center of the symbols are actually the buttons) and in contrasting color, so I can see them in the shower without my glasses.
DOES NOT CHARGE!! I should have taken heed from others who complained about the same thing. I had the unit charging for 8 hours and all I hear from the unit when I try to turn it on is..."Umm, critical battery please charge." Really?!!
It sucks, the prior model is louder ironically. It’s bigger than most speakers yet plays softer than my Alexa echo clock. It’s over priced, if it was 50 bucks I’d buy it though.
So I was excited to get this as I know the color is discontinued and though it would be cool to have. Sadly the one we received was defective and wouldn’t charge.
