I make reviews on YouTube, and I've reviewed a lot of drones. The Mavic 2 Pro is one of my favorites and definitely takes the place of many of my older DJI drones.
It has a great camera with impressive low-light capabilities. The surround obstacle avoidance performs extremely well especially in ActiveTrack. I can also control not only the pitch but the YAW of the camera independent of the drone's body, a first for DJI drones at this price point. And I love the fact that it's a MAVIC with a controllable aperture. Combine that with D-Log M 10-bit video recording, and we have a winner.
I do wish the camera could shoot in 4k60fps however. We have a lot of other camera/drone peers that can shoot in 4k 60fps. But aside from that, it's proven to be a more portable solution than my Phantom 4 Pro. I was recently piloting professionally for a video shoot with Popular Mechanics, and I used the Mavic 2 Pro instead of my Phantom 4 Pro because of its portability and ease of control. I truly believe the Mavic style drones are easier to control with slight movements or windy conditions than the Phantom style drones.
