This is a review after only one day, but so far, I'm giving this 5 Stars. I have had the Vivoactive HR for close to 2 years, and while it has been very functional, I was starting to not like how it looked when in business attire. In fact, I had started wearing my old analog watch again because it was less bulky and looked more appropriate with a suit. I had been going back and forth on whether to get the Vivomove HR because I kept hearing issues about the clock not remaining accurate and the screen being hard to see, but decided to gamble and see how it would work. Well, after a very short time period, I can't be more happy with this smartwatch!
As for the look, it is fantastic. I bought the premium gold with light brown leather band. It has a classic analog look and doubt anyone would know it was a smartwatch. My exercise revolves around swimming, walking, and doing stairs with occasional biking. I have been using the Garmin Swim for swimming for about 3 years and am very happy with that and no plans to change using it. But for most of my other exercise, the Vivomove HR will be more than sufficient. I have found the stair count to be more accurate than the Vivoactive stair count. If I go bike riding, I can easily throw on the Vivoactive and take advantage of the GPS in that. But for my day to day activities, the Vivomove will be very sufficient.
The Vivomove paired quite easily with my Galaxy S8 and it receives notifications very accurately. It doesn't display much of the text, email, or other message, but allows me to see if I need to act immediately or wait until later to respond. The messages are only for viewing and you can't respond, but again, this meets my needs. As for the viewing of the screen, I have not had an issue with it. This was another negative that some have posted, that it was tough to read the screen outside. I will admit that when in the sun, I have to put my hand over the watch face to get a good view, but really don't find that to be much of a hassle in my line of work. While in my car, or in any normal lighted room, the messages can be seen quite clearly. If I was using this watch for running or biking out in the sun, then I probably would find it to be not so great, but if I was purchasing a watch for those reasons I'd stick with the current Vivoactive watch. Of course, the Vivomove works with the Garmin Connect phone app and all appears accurate there. I've only slept with the Vivomove once, but it appeared to be as accurate as the Vivoactive was. There are other functions I have not used yet (music controls and some additional activity options), but if any issues with those or if any are particularly interesting I will update this review.
I guess it depends on what the goal is with this particular watch. For me, this is a pretty close to perfect option for what I was looking for. A classic looking watch with some basic (steps, stairs, heart rate, sleeping, messages) smartwatch functionality. If looking for a smartwatch that is more watch like, don't be afraid of the comments regarding seeing the screen or the watch being inaccurate.....and buy it!

Stress monitoring works and it is awesome
I love this watch so much and I expect it to be transformational.A lot of reviews indicated the Stress leveling was either inaccurate or useless, and I disagree. I am able to induce a state of “relaxed” using autogenic breathing or Yoga Nidra guided relaxation (which is available on Amazon Prime and will play on your Alexa). Things that cause my “stress” to be increased include physical discomfort/pain, children (lol), and of course the emotions I actually associate with “stress.” I think it’s incredibly valuable to know when my stress is high / getting there so I can take a break and relax. It’s the kind of habit that could keep anxiety at bay and I’m stoked.I also found my sleep monitoring to be accurate within 30 minutes and to have accounted for my toddler waking me up. As others have noted my “stress” isn’t excellent during sleep, but I’m excited to figure out if I can improve this by doing bedtime relaxation exercises that I know how to do but don’t commit to regularly.I love the admire the analog feel of this smart watch as I gesture a middle finger at the silly YouTube reviews dissing the resolution. It’s monotone, and it is not at all distracting. I’m one of those people who picks up my phone to reply to a text, then has to check Facebook, then the latest headlines, then I remember that thing I wanted to order...20 - 40 minutes later I remember what it was I was doing. This is no way to live, but I depend on my smart phone for legitimate use and I’m not ready to revert to being a Luddite. I also much be reachable at all times. A tiny screen that enables me to be in touch WITHOUT any temptation to wander into apps is exactly what I need, and higher resolution would be pointless. I see it just fine in the sun and it also performed well in a movie theater without being a nuisance. It’s a blessing to be able to read a text without interacting with my phone—if I want to stay off it I reply with Siri otherwise I wait until my next phone break.I love everything about this watch so far except I find the app a little confusing—I tried to create a “manual activity” and failed. Also iOS has the ability to “mute” notifications from select contacts, which created problems for me that Garmin’s instructions didn’t address (they only address global settings like Do Not Disturb). It was worth the effort to troubleshoot—I already feel more focused and less stressed wearing this watch for just 2 days.Lastly I’ve never been a step counter and kind of DGAF but I do like counting my “intense” exercise minutes, and the automatic tracking of my bike rides. Very nice!

I've had this watch almost two weeks now, and I really like it. I love that it looks like a normal, classy watch. It has all of what I want (tracking steps, heart rate, stress, sleep, giving me phone notifications so I don't have to check my actual phone as much), but it presents all of this in a very streamlined, elegant manner so I don't feel like it's bogged down with bells and whistles. It's also very easy to customize what the watch will show and what it doesn't, what notifications it gives, so it's easy to make it even more streamlined (for example, I removed the music control widget as I'm probably not going to use that one).
Protip: The "messages" widget needs to be visible in order to receive notifications from your phone. This seems obvious in retrospect, but I played around with hiding that widget and it prevented any notifications from coming through.
Probably the only con is that sleep tracking isn't super accurate, as some people have said. The problem is mainly recording when I fall asleep and when I wake up. For example, if I lay down to watch a movie before bed, it'll think I went to sleep, or if you wake up but lie in bed for a bit and don't get up right away, it will think you are still asleep. But in the app you can always manually edit what time you went to bed and what time you woke up to get more accurate data. I think the tracking in between falling asleep and waking up is good.
In a possibly counter intuitive way, it has made me less tied to my phone because I'm not preemptively checking for notifications, I trust my watch to let me know if someone is trying to get a hold of me! I also programmed it so that it doesn't send me things like Facebook notifications, to further minimize distraction by my phone. Now I only check my phone when I really need to.
Lastly, I was worried it would be too big on my extremely tiny female wrist, but it isn't at all, and the ordering the small band worked perfectly.
