    Holy battery life!
EDIT: My original review was from February 22nd, but I charged the device on February 20th. It's now March 1st. I got bored with having a low battery so I started charging it at 13%. I've been using it for fitness tracking, sleep tracking, reading notifications, checking the weather, and checking the time. I probably activate my watch about 20 times a day. I wore it at all times, including showering and bathing. I turned off the lift-to-wake gesture and set the screen brightness to 4 out of 10 because it's bright enough for everything except direct sunlight. In other words it's lasted for 10 days, and I imagine would last for 12 or 13 days if I tried. So the battery life being better than Samsung states is quite real!I'm not sure why the battery life isn't marketed more heavily. They should be tooting their trumpets about this all around the world. Nobody else even tries to have this amount of battery life. I dimmed the screen, made sure the BPM counter wasn't on the front clock face, and turned off gestures. As a result I spent only 1% in a day! I spent more the next day, but I have a feeling I could beat Samsung's guidance and make this thing last 10 days instead of 5 or 6. Rare to see battery life HIGHER than the manufacturer's promise.I wanted a smartwatch which I could use for basic tracking and manually looking at my notifications when I felt like it, something that wouldn't nag me. And I also hate how even the Apple Watch gives you a day or two. So when I learned about the battery life, I assumed that it would be $300. Instead it's $60 on Amazon. Whoa. Instabuy, for me.Also, special shout-out to the stress tracker and calorie tracker's accuracy (at least for me) and the sleep tracker being pretty much perfect. There's no "Set it and forget it", there's just "forget it". Everything is automatic and I'm left wondering how other companies are unable to use the standard watch sensors to track this kind of information. Does Samsung have patents on using this equipment in these ways? Regardless, this is one of the most insightful trackers I've ever seen, and the battery life, just wow.A final note: It looks like the silver model is basically sold out until the end of time. I can't find any of them anywhere. I thought it looked prettier and I wanted one, but I settled on the black. I think the black actually wound up being beautiful. It gently reflects a soft bit of light off the band, so it's never really black, it's a darkened version of the color of your environment. Phone cameras don't pick that up very well, so even the official and review pictures show this Darth Vader-esque pitch black band. That's not at all how it is. It's soft and tasteful and I think fashion-conscious buyers shouldn't shy away. At least try the black. :)I've tried a lot of products and this is the closest I've got to "just rate it 5 stars and move on". There's no obvious dings for me. Maybe if you have uncorrected vision and need to buy some glasses, the font could be a little small. A professional reviewer said that you'd be "scrolling and scrolling" to read notifications. That wasn't my experience at all. The font is the exact same as these trackers I've seen at some restaurants and theme parks when you have to wait to be called, and it fits a surprising amount of legible words on it for such a tiny screen. So at least try the font before you assume it'll be too small, I was warned it would be small and I didn't think so at all.

I wanted to wait a few months before writing this review. I purchased this 5 months ago after careful consideration. I do like Samsung products. Originally I only got 3½ days of battery life which was extremely annoying. I did overlook that with the hope that a software upgrade would arrive some day to fix that and other blatant issues and they certainly did!

I now get 8 days of battery life which is more than double the original. It now has a battery meter on the display (if you choose do display one). Prior you had to go into the app on your phone to see battery life, which was stupid at best. Now it's on the fit. Now there's many more features and faces you can tailor the display for. Originally I pared my display items to heart rate, steps and sleep to get my 3½ days of battery life. Now I have that and more and the battery last SO much longer.

I got mine in summer and swim, kayaked and showered with it. It still works great. I take it off only to charge it. It does have a swim mode, which I think turns off the display so it does not come on with every swim stroke. But it is waterproof as I shower daily with it.

You can now display your calendar agenda, control music, display weather plus all the usual and more. I would guess more will be coming with future software upgrades to the Fit.

I used to have a Garmin Vivosmart HR+ and this now is a huge improvement. The display is beautiful and crystal clear. Performance wise with steps I think it is very generous. Sleep tracking it seems dead on. Heart rate for me is important to watch and it's close enough for what I want/need.

It still can be improved in a few main categories: one is screen brightness. It needs to adapt to brighter in the sun and much dimmer at night and even dimmer while in the total dark like looking at it in the middle of the night in bed. But I'm patient as the software upgrades are huge improvements every time.

It also needs a slightly better band. The band is pretty good. But everyone one in a while I find it loose or very loose. It's an unusual design that does work. But I would prefer to see the usual adjustable watch clasp or even a material band with Velcro like the kind that some Luminox watches have.

Charging time is now around 2 hours to charge to full. That's MUCH better than originally as it needed 4+ hours. Half that is much better.

All in all it now deserves it's 5 stars in all categories. And I'm sure even more improvements and enhancements thru software upgrades for the band will come out in the future. Just make sure to check for software updates every few months. A new one has been coming out once a month.

I highly recommend the Galaxy Fit. It's an excellent activity tracker with excellent battery life and customization.
