Next Level USB-C Gen.2 Dock
Built on the concept that more and more of us are working remotely from home the SOHO, or Small Office Home Office Dock, helps bring all of our devices together wherever we are.
Double The Performance Of Gen.1
The benefits of a 10Gb/s USB-C device over a 5Gb/s device set it apart from the vast amount of hubs on the market. Whether you want to take full advantage of a 4K 60Hz monitor or connect an ultra-fast SSD, the SOHO Dock has all the features you need.

Single 4K 60HzThe SOHO Dock offers full 4K 60Hz resolution for those looking to get the most out of their 4K monitors. In order to achieve 4K 60Hz your computer’s USB-C port must support DP 1.4 (HBR3). |
Dual Monitors on macOSmacOS users looking to add dual monitors can add two displays up to 4K 60Hz² in Mirrored mode. Dual Extended displays are not supported on macOS. |
Dual Monitors on WindowsWindows users looking to add dual monitors can add two displays up to 4K 60Hz² in Mirrored mode, or dual Extended displays at 4K 30Hz². |
At Your Desk or On-The-Go
The SOHO Dock has the ability to be bus-powered, making it an ideal solution for users that need to expand their connectivity on the road. In addition, the SOHO Dock’s dual video connectors and pass-through charging capability make it an ideal desktop docking solution.
iPad Pro & Tablet Compatible
Not only can you use the SOHO Dock on a traditional computer, you can also use it with an iPad Pro or Windows tablet. This allows users to connect a single 4K 60Hz HDR-enabled monitor and all the various devices that the SOHO Dock has to offer.²
Dual SD Card Readers
The dual SD 4.0 and microSD 4.0 card readers both support UHS-II speeds that will significantly improve your file transfer speeds.
HDMI 2.0b & DisplayPort 1.4
By including both HDMI and DisplayPort connectors, users have the flexibility to connect to the type of display that’s best suited for them, including HDR monitors.
Just the Right Amount of Ports
Unlike other Gen.1 USB-C hubs on the market that tend to overpromise on connectivity, the CalDigit USB-C SOHO Dock has been designed to have just the right amount of ports in order to not exceed the power output that your laptop’s USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port can provide.
- 1 x USB-C 10Gb/s (Data Port)
- 1 x USB-C (Power Delivery)
- 1 x DisplayPort 1.4
- 1 x HDMI 2.0b
- 1 x USB-A 10Gb/s (Data Port)
- 1 x SD 4.0 UHS-II Card Reader
- 1 x microSD UHS-II Card reader
Pass-through Laptop Charging¹
The SOHO Dock supports up to a 100W Type-C charger and can offer up to 90W for laptop charging¹. A USB-C charger will deliver power to the dock, connected USB devices, and provide charging for the host device. The SOHO Dock will dynamically charge your laptop based on the required wattage to operate the dock and associated USB devices. USB-C charger not included.
Full Speed 10Gb/s Data Port
Anyone that has used traditional Gen. 1 USB-C hubs will know that the USB ports offer limited capabilities. The SOHO Dock’s USB-C data port offers full 10Gb/s performance, double that of traditional hubs. Even when the video ports are in use, USB performance will not drop due to bandwidth limitations.
USB-A 10Gb/s Data Port
Not only does the SOHO Dock feature a 10Gb/s USB-C port, it also has a 10Gb/s USB-A port that allows you to add a keyboard, mouse, smartphone or any other USB device. In addition, you could connect a fast SSD to take advantage of the 10Gb/s speeds.

Beware of this issue with the drivers, it could let you think that de DOCK its dead but it isnt. It Happend to me.

Tried to update the firmware and changing the USB-C cables, and didnt work. The USB Dock isnt even recognice by the software updater. Its like its not there... it just simply died on me.
Them i tried out my dock with an Macbook Air M1 and it worked perfectly... so it wasnt the Dock fault.. Windows update messed up the USB-C Drivers and literaly didnt recongnice it anymore.
Had to contact my Laptop Manufacturer for the correct drivers, because windows keep installing faulty ones, even if I reinstalled windows or did the factory reset....
Now with the new drivers from the manufacturer, it work perfectly again...
Can Power 2 Displays (QHD + FHD) with an external RAID Enclosure with no problems.

Its small enough for travel and has just enough ports to support a mobile setup with all the speed of its bigger brothers.
I wish the dock came with one each additional USB-A and USB-C data ports.
My trouble was that when I used it for the first time real-world use (I bought this many months ago but only tested it to see if it worked), I wanted to charge my Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra while having an HDMI cable connected to my 4K LG TV. The display worked fine other than the very top and bottom was chopped off. This wasn't much trouble with the tablet in Samsung DEX mode, but in non-DEX mode, the status bar wasn't visible at all, although I could still pull the notification shade down with my Bluetooth mouse.
The trouble was in charging through the dock. I'm using an Anker 736 100W PD 3.0 charger, and I know that although the tablet handles up to 45W charging, a Samsung branded charger is required to handle that high wattage, but I knew that the standard PD 3.0 would still charge the tablet at about 35 watts, if I remember correctly.
Using CalDigit's included ~1-foot cable between the Host connection on the dock and the tablet, and trying two different cables (one Anker and one JSAUX) between the Anker charger and the dock while displaying to the TV, the tablet was charging some, but still overall losing power faster than it was charging.
Once I eliminated the CalDigit USB-C cable out of the equation, it charged perfectly fine. In this case, I tested with the "JSAUX USB C to USB C 3.1 Gen 2 10Gbps 100W Cable [3.3ft/1M], 4K@60Hz Monitor Video Cable Thunderbolt 3 Compatible with MacBook Pro, MacBook, MacBook Air, iPad Pro, Pixel and More Type-C Devices-Blue" between the dock Host connection and the tablet, and a "Anker Powerline+ II USB C Cable, USB C to USB C (6ft, 60W) USB-IF Certified Cable, Type C Charging Cable, Fast Charge for MacBook Air, iPad Pro, iPad Air 4, Galaxy, Pixel, and More(Red)" between the Anker 736 charger and the hub's USB-C power input.
So I'll keep CalDigit's included USB-C cable, but only for USB 3.2 / Gen 2 / 10 Gbps data transfers, not for charging. I may contact the company directly, as it's odd that the cable doesn't even handle 35W when the dock is rated for 100W.
Docks/Hubs with attached cables are not good portable sets as the cables get easily twisted during travels.
Using this hub for Ipad pro, Mac Bk and Win PC is a breeze without any need fiddling on settings.
The size and shape is a super bonus.
Top reviews from other countries
This smaller CalDigit hub is clearly a labour of love from CalDigit, not some lowest common denominator product from a no-name company. It works flawlessly with my MacBook Air and an external 27" monitor running at 2560 x 1440 pixels. There was, however, one setting on my Mac that I needed to adjust. MacOS assumes it can run the monitor at refresh rate of 144Hz -- this is a setting easily found in Preferences > Displays > Refresh rate. While the monitor can cope, the CalDigit was not entirely happy and the screen would chop and change. It was clearly an issue such as refresh rate. I was able to see enough to try an adjustment or two and as soon as I tried just one setting down, from 144Hz to 120Hz, the problem went away. Permanently.
Since setting MacOS, in Preferences > Displays, to 120Hx refresh rate, this CalDigit has been perfect. This is not surprising given CalDigit clearly state: "All of CalDigit’s docks are fully compatible with the new M1-based Macs including the ability to charge a laptop and more".
Compared to the larger hubs made by CalDigit, this one, for the money, is excellent value, lacking in one area only that I miss; audio out. But a quick check and I found that by connecting a display over HDMI rather than DisplayPort, means audio is sent to the monitor, and from there I can get an audio out and elegantly keep my one cable solution for plugging in my MacBook Air.
I have no affiliation with CalDigit, I have just worked with I.T since before the PC was sold (CP/M days) and I know a good piece of engineering when I meet it. I would re-buy this unit immediately if I needed another. Thanks CalDigit.
With the smaller adapter for 30 watts attached to the Caldigit, and the two drives, it does not charge. For that one needs to connect the charger directly on one of the ports on the computer.
Otherwise works well. Have tried the other ports and they all work.

I also use it at home to quickly connect my work MacBook to and external monitor.
This works perfectly for me.
It works flawlessly with chromebook though so giving 4 stars.
