I have two the hockey puck and the global one. I prefer the puck because she seems to be more attentive, but really love both. They are so helpful to me such as, I have lots of pain and it’s so nice to ask Alexa’s turn on (or turn off) my living room light . You can set reminders, ask the time, what’s the weather, sing to you, play music, etc. I always tell her thank you and she responds to it. At one point she said WAHOO you just made my day! I about cracked up laughing when I hear her say that! 😂. There are too many things to tell here. You can also change voices if you wish. I’m 76 and I love them both and so easy to hook up and use easy peasy. LOVE THEM,
We love have these dots in our kids' rooms. We use them for white noise at night, to play music for impromptu dance parties, and to set timers. We also have a few kids podcasts that our kiddos enjoy. Would definitely recommend!

We got this free or cheap with a Christmas tree purchase. It works well and we set it up to turn tree off over the holiday. Now she just creeps around and listens to our thoughts and conversations. Either way, I’m sure we will occasionally use her for music and such.
So I started using Alexa devices when they first came out and have continued to add to my home devices. The dots are great. There are some really neat skills you can download for these devices, but typically I use them for music, weather, news while I’m cleaning, and random trivia questions I am dying to know. I’ve also used some of the dots for parties by connecting them all to a group and having them work as a speaker system together in different rooms. Much cheaper than the alternatives- but this can be challenging if you have a lot of guests on their phones fighting for the Bluetooth. The plugs, unexpectedly, are also helpful for home security. We thought we heard noises in the house one night and were able to switch on lights in every room without needing to get close to the noise. My husband isn’t as nuts about Alexa because she rarely responds to his voice correctly- she’s much better responding to me. Be warned, she doesn’t know everything. One major con that’s been happening recently is that Alexa has started advertising products and “deals”… almost on a daily basis. I hate this feature. It’s new and hasn’t always been this way. If this continues we may need to start looking for an alternative. But until then, I’ll keep using Alexa devices because frankly I like them, they’re helpful, and I’ve been accustomed to it. I started asking Alexa questions at my job out of habit so often that I recently got one for my office too. It’s great there as well!
She reads to me from Amazon prime. She can find my phone and keeps me on time. I have several Playlist for music 60s, old country, and favorites (a little of everything, including Wipeout)
I would have one in every room… if it were up to me! I have most things on smart switches or with smart bulbs. I am however, having trouble figuring out the am/pm routines. Grrrr… But it would not beep me from buying them. I have too many to count and will buy more😜 It’s creating lazy people And making life soooo easy. Lol I just have to laugh when people tell me they only use them to play music. I tell them you are missing OUT!
