I own all three options of these now- each is beautiful! Great addition to an artists desk! Holes are small and tapered so capacity is limited- one of the two holes is half the depth of the other as well so keep in mind they really don’t hold much.

My original purchase of a light-toned wood was at our local art museum, and I was thrilled to find these at Amazon. Loved mine; great build quality and machining, the "blade" is shiny and looks real, and the wood finish is excellent. Bought one for my wife and myself, and the retro-ness is a treat. The blade is not something you can cut yourself with, but if you put in pencils point up, well, then don't be a klutz like me. 100% recommended for fun (the pencil cup, not the poked hand).

Adorable but does not hold much

I absolutely love this. I get a ton of compliments on it and I have honestly never seen one like it before. It is absolutely adorable on our desk. The only downside is that it doesn't hold that many pens/pencils. And it cones towards the bottom, which makes some markers fit funny and fall out. Mine holds 5-6 pens, leaving a little room to move them around. But again, absolutely adorable.

The reason I bought this item was to provide my two (middle aged) sons with an item that would be a funky way of storing their drawing materials on their desks.
They both live in the USA and when received, I was told by both, that they loved
having them on their desks in their respective offices, as beside being very useful, they were sturdy and good looking. The Desk Tidy was also admired by their colleagues, making a talking point. I knew they would like them, as, like me, they admire things 'different' and useful, rather than mundane, easily broken, plastic items that look 'cheap and nasty'. Not for once, did I consider these items to be toys and on the packaging, it was clearly stated that they were not to be used as a toy! Wish there were more funky items like this.
