I'm a very satisfied customer. This Lenovo ThinkPad E595 arrived just two days after I ordered it, and one day earlier than the projected arrival date. The price was excellent, easily a $150 less than competitors with similar features. Unboxing it I found it to be slimmer and lighter than older versions, with an elegant smokey black matte finish. The screen flips as far as 180 degrees, flat. It has three standard USB's, one USB-C, a headphone/AUX port, HDMI port, and ether net port, and MICRO-SD port. I also ordered, separately, DVD drive because, like most from 2015 on, it doesn't have a loadable disc drive. But that's just my preference, as I like to upload CD's (for better resolution than MP3's). I was pleased to find the charger uses a USB-C drive, same as recent Apple and Samsung peripherals. Can it be used to charge new iPhones an my Samsung Note 9? Maybe.
I'll have to look that one up. The Lenovo also came with a short (1ft) hdmi cord, for dual screen and presentation modes. Long cords have their value, but sometimes a short one is better suited to the job - such as a side by side computer-projector setup for office or classroom presentations. Setup was smooth and intuitive. I did find the f-keys were disabled (volume control, brightness, mic, etc.). But that was an easy fix (Fn + Esc). This computer is fast, quiet, and navigation between programs is seamless. Typical of ThinkPad, it has two built-in cursor/navigation options (track pad and trackpoint), though I still prefer a mouse. If I ever forget the mouse when I'm working away from home, it's no problem. The track pad is very user friendly and fully programmable (ex., if you are left handed, or prefer the bottom buttons over the top ones). You can even disable the trackpad if you find your palm keeps touching it and moving the cursor. I don't do gaming on it, but I have found it to handle streaming video very well with its Radeon Vega Graphics card and AMD Ryzen 5 chip. Overall, I'm enjoying my new laptop and would recommend it to anyone looking for a mid-level multipurpose laptop.
