Totally manual and cranks out cold

Got this set up in the hottest days of Summer so far and it quickly brought the heat in a 10' x 12' x 9'(high ceilinged room) down to comfort level. And by day 2 of the heat wave I could turn it down. It's all manual so you have to adjust the settings yourself and cold is from 1-10. Fan is hi or low and it's on or off. But a good value for the money. Running on 10 as it cools down the room now feels like a refrigerator. :-)

I just hooked up this air conditioner and it is noisy as hell. I checked everything and it seems the noise is coming from the fan as it turns. No mater what speed I have it on, it is noisy. I will be returning this.
Update: I tinkered with the placement and if you tilt the air conditioner forward, the noise goes away so it seems that either there is a bearing issue or the fan is loose..Still going back.

Item was pretty much as described. Had some damage that looked cosmetic but once we installed a couple months later after renovating room we noticed it runs with a very noisy fan noise. We should have installed sooner, missed the return window. It appears to cool fine , it is winter lol, but runs noisy even on fan. We will limp along till we replace. Saved some money and got a inexpensive functional yet hiccup unit! LOL

I always buy Haier brand. Only issue was that I couldn't drill it into the wall to hold it in place because of my window sill. It also didn't align perfectly so I had to put masking/duct tape over the gap (even if the gap is thin). Over all, it cools pretty well. I am not sure how it affects my electric bill but it keeps me cool!

Unit came out of box with a dent in outside case.. The fan only had one speed after one night,.Too much bother to repack. Will use' asis..Called HAIEr for service and was told I have to bring it to their dealer. Do not have a dealer in the area/.. Never will buy again..

So far, excellent item. I wanted an absolute "no frills" air conditioner that just works. And that is exactly what this does. Blows very cold air and will deep freeze a decent size bedroom with very reasonable energy usage. The key with this will be how long it lasts. If I can get 2 to 3 years out of this, it will be a huge winner (at least for me). I've had several air conditioners and several very expensive air conditioners with remotes and all kinds of digital settings. This one works every bit as well. If it last 2 to 3 years it will easily be five stars.

Good for this price. Kinda noisy though. Also it only has a "cold" regime, so you cannot use it to warm up your room in winter. I think it's okay for a rent place, but I would buy something more sophisticated for a place of my own.
