1.0 out of 5 starsCaused Urgent Care Visit! BEWARE!

I am a Colgate girl, but this was on sale, and I heard it was great for whitening, so I tried it. Each day of the first week, I hated the taste, and it sort of burned, but I figured it was doing its thing. By Day 8-9, I could barely brush because my gums were sore- never thought it was the toothpaste! Thought it was from spicy food. Day 10, my tongue is on fire! Then the inside of my cheeks and under my tongue were both burning, along with the deep part of my gums. I thought that was because I ate pineapples. Day 11, my lip swells to twice it’s size, and I have red dots all over my mouth. It hurts to even move my tongue, and I can’t close my mouth because of swelling. Still never connecting all of this to TOOTHPASTE?? Went to Urgent Care. The doc and I go over anything it could be- nothing really seems feasible, so I need a full blood test to rule out infections, kidney, or liver issues. All results are fine. While waiting, I google symptoms again, and toothpaste pops up as a possible cause. I look more closely and see this exact brand I have is causing all kinds of issues for people, so I share that with the doc. I show her the reviews. She says- Stop using that now AND puts me on steroids for a week to help with the crazy inflammation. So now I have the prednisone side effects too. I can’t imagine what my bill will be for all of this healthcare. I just pray it goes away and I can eat and brush teeth comfortably again. It’s an absolute crime that this stuff is still out there on shelves. I saw reviews with issues going back 9 years, so it’s not just the newer formula. Please don’t use this stuff! White teeth are not worth all
of this— and it tastes nasty. I emailed the company and will call too. Hang in there, if you’re reading this and feeling like I do. You’re not alone!
