So when the Apple Watch first came out, I refused to even consider it as a product I wanted to know about. I recently saw the watch in a box store and got intrigued. I just recently switched from android to Apple. I read several reviews on the differences of the regular and sport model. I choose the sport model because many people noted that it had visibly less glare than the regular version, and I spend a decent amount of time outside when I'm off. The watch comes with both the s/m and m/l bands, the watch itself, the charger and a quick start guide in a durable heavyweight storage box.
The band stays on my arm even with my arm scraping against my jacket sleeve, the wall, patient beds and the likes. I was very leery of the bands securing, most because my up2 manages to come off a lot with a similar two step closure. The availability of useful apps for the watch is great, everything that I normally would have to find and log into my phone for- I can now find on my wrist. This is extremely helpful for me as I don't really have time to be on my phone at work. Carrying it in my scrubs pocket is impractical (iPhone 6+). I have installed a screen protector on the glass front to ensure I don't ding it up too bad. I keep the bezel turned away from my finger tips to make sure I don't click it while bending my arm.
I haven't had any issues with keeping the battery charged, it's usually only down to about 40% at the end of my 10-13hr work day. The only setting I did turn off was the wrist wake simply because I lift my arm quite a bit at work. I do keep a relatively simple black and white chronograph face on the watch versus the animated, picture or slide show faces which might contribute to the battery life. I do use it quite often though.
I have not tested Apple Pay on it just yet, but I do know if you enable Apple Pay then you do have to choose a four digit security pin to unlock your watch - which can sometimes be a pain to type when you're in a hurry. I do wear my up2 and the watch on the same arm and the steps are pretty close. The heart rate is sometimes a bit erratic but I think it might be from my watch not being on super snug (it tends to pinch my arm when I put it on snug - which is probably due to the up2 being on the same wrist). The Siri feature works great as does the text dictation. There are about ten to twelve preset text replies that you can customize if you are not interested in talking to your wrist to respond to texts (lol, no one would blame you).
The charger that came with my watch is surprisingly long, probably about 4-5 feet in length. The extra cord that you can order from the Apple Store however is only about 8 inches long, I don't think there's a second length option available just yet. I will say that the secondary cord from the Apple Store is more reasonably priced ($29 with free two day shipping) than those currently available on Amazon.
If you put your watch in power reserve to conserve the battery until you can recharge it, it will automatically turn itself back on upon being placed on the charger. The lowest brightness of the screen is rather bright still when it is pitch dark or while driving at night.
I'm still learning which apps I prefer to access from just my phone and which from both the watch and phone. So far I definitely love it and I was completely against the idea of ever owning one before.
