Star Wars Battlefront 2 review

Before everybody jumps on the hate train and starts attacking this review for the 5 stars, I would like to mention that I am reviewing the game itself, NOT EA's decisions.
I have played the game for the past 2 days, and I am more than happy with it. In multiplayer it finds a match in less than 5 seconds, and there is almost no wait time in between games. Although a lot of people have refunded, canceled their purchases there is still a large player-base. Now for the game itself.
This battlefront includes a single player campaign, which I have started progressing slowly. I know most people (hardcore star wars fans) will hate the campaign as it is the new canon, and everything from the expanded universe is not, to some point I do agree with this, but at this point there is nothing that can be done about that. So far the campaign has been fun and interesting, as well it could be challenging if you play at hardest difficulty. By progressing in the campaign you unlock different milestones and challenges, which give you extra Credits, parts, and I believe crates as well, which help you progress your classes and heroes inside the multiplayer. About the graphics. I was left speechless. My 980Ti pushes the game on Ultra without any problems at stable 60 fps. I believe the lower grade cards would achieve that as well (maybe not Ultra but High settings). The game looks as if its almost in real life, the details around the maps are amazing. On each different map there are tons of NPCs which bring back some nostalgia from movie scenes, old games, etc. The gameplay so far has been amazing as well, although as a competitive FPS player, I do find that hit detection sometimes is a bit dodgy (you just jump within cover but bullets still hit you), but that wouldn't be an issue for the casual player, and does not happen that often. The different game modes, give you plenty of variety in terms of maps, objectives, etc. Each different era, has its different classes. For example if you are playing the Camino map, there will be Clone troopers vs Droids, if you are playing the Jakku map, there will be First Order vs Rebels. All this different models again give you lots of variety, and so far the game hasn't began to be repetitive, nor boring. I mentioned different modes. The game has the 20 vs 20 mode, has the space battles which are quite amazing after you get the hang of how to fly all the different ships, there is heroes vs villains mode, a smaller deathmatch 8 v 8, and the 10 v 10 close combat mode. Again this gives you a lot of different things to play, and experiment. There are a lot of classes and heroes that you can advance. Now I come to the part where EA got salted a lot in the past week. The microtransactions and hero high prices. So far the microtransactions were disabled, and you cannot "pay 2 win", I understand that this is a awful practice, and I am against it as well, but then again do not attack the devs, attack the management who makes the decisions (as a developer myself, even if devs want to change something or not implement it, they cannot do anything about it, they just do whatever comes from above them). Lets for a second ignore EA's bad decisions, even if some people can buy crates, that doesn't necessarily mean that they will be beast and kill you every time. Yes they might get lucky, and get a rarer starcard but the boost from that is not that huge, and also they will still have to level up by playing in order to activate this starcard. The game is more dependent on skill rather than having the best star cards (I know a lot of people will disagree, but then again are people with Ultrawide monitors cheaters as well? Are people with Ultra High End headsets cheaters for hearing exactly where you are? Are people with high refresh rate monitors cheaters?). While yes the star cards give you some advantage, it is not that huge advantage, and again it depends on one's skill more than one's star cards. Another thing about the game is unlocking heroes. I saw a lot of talk about how its impossible to unlock heroes if you dont grind for hours and hours. Well that's not true. In game there are a lot of challenges, and ways to get credits and spare parts faster. If you are smart enough to open up the challenges page, and see which challenges give you the most credits, go play those modes. In each mode there are plenty of challenges that can be done, and help you unlock those heroes faster. 7 hours in the game, I have already gotten more than 30 000 credits just by playing, and have unlocked both Vader and Skywalker, so any talk of "oh, you have to grind 40 hours just to unlock 1 hero" is just people continuing to salt on what I believe is a great game (again talking about PURE game (graphics, gameplay, story), and not bad EA decisions). I hope that this review was helpful.
