5.0 out of 5 starsLargest microSDXC card with the fastest read/write speeds - this card redefines 2016 for us.

I have a Windows Phone - Lumia 950 XL. It has a microSDXC slot. I was previously using a 128 GB SanDisk with up to 30 MBPS.
SanDisk Ultra 128GB MicroSDXC Class 10 UHS Memory Card Speed Up To 30MB/s With Adapter - SDSDQUA-128G-G46A.

I kept having laggy photo performance. It would take a while to save multiple photos, process them, videos might prevent more photos from being taken. I was at a show recently and had issues where I lost photos and said 'That's it' and made an effort to research SD cards.

I've found this to be the fastest card on the market today. The EVO+ line is similar to the PRO+ line made by Samsung. I checked the press release on the most recent 256 GB EVO+ and it brought the read/write speeds up to line with the PRO+, but increased the storage to a whopping 256GB.

"The EVO Plus 256GB raises the bar for capacity and performance of microSD cards thanks to Samsung’s advanced V-NAND technology, offering high read and write speeds of up to 95MB/s and 90MB/s, respectively. This level of performance will provide general consumers and professionals with superb user convenience for storing heavy-loaded, high-resolution photography and 4K video recording, as well as graphic intensive multimedia like virtual reality (VR) and gaming.

“With the upward trend of consumers using high-performance, high-capacity mobile devices, our new, V-NAND-based 256GB microSD card solution allows us to deliver the memory card consumers have been craving,” said Un-Soo Kim, Senior Vice President of Brand Product Marketing, Memory Business at Samsung Electronics. “Our EVO Plus 256GB microSD card, will provide consumers with large capacity, and high read and write speeds. We are excited to offer our customers convenient and seamless multimedia experiences when they access, store and share all of the content they create and capture.”

1.0 out of 5 starsBait and switch. Gray market cards?
Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2018
I contacted Samsung on the phone and they told me that the EVO+ and EVO Select are the same card. The green, Select label is the card made specifically to be sold on Amazon.

This unit's page was linked to what they said was a "newer" card from the same seller. It goes to the MB-MC256GA/EU card. When I checked with Samsung it shows that card as a 2017 European market version. The MB-MC256DA/AM is the one for the U.S..

Based on that, I ordered this card. What I got was the 2017 European card. The GA/EU id code covered with this sellers bar code sticker which incorrectly shows it as a DA/AM.

Another way to tell the two from each other is that the 2017 version card is labeled EVO Plus and the other is labeled EVO+.
EU designates for the European market. These would be gray market cards and Samsung would not warranty them.

It looks like this seller is relabeling last years. Also, I purchased this one for $107.92 , but received the one that sells for $96.35 from the link on this page. When I bought this the seller was Digital Media Source. When I looked back a little while ago it was a three letter name that I've forgotten. Then the seller became General King. Next it was Bsd Wholesale. All these name changes withing a few hours. The link doesn't make sense, saying it's to a "newer" card which costs less money, from the same seller, but you end up getting that card if you order this one.

Something is definitely not right here. I've contacted Amazon about it and I'm returning this card.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Card. Comparatively decent price.

Pretty fast for such a big card! If you want faster read speeds but a higher price, then check out the Lexar Pro 1000x UHS-II/U3 (Think about it, you spend most of your time copying files OFF of the card to your computer. Lexar card saves time!!) Write speeds on both cards are massively faster than you need, even when recording 4K at max settings. Let me explain.

The new Gopro 5 Black and Session 5 only writes at 60 Mb/s when doing 4K. This card can write 680 Mb/s (aka. 85 MegaBytes per second)! Plenty fast!

10 year Warranty on card, Lexar has lifetime.
97.31 MB/s Read - 85.77 MB/s Write on my system, using CrystalDiskMark 5.1.2 (x64) on Win 7 using
Kingston MobileLite G4 USB 3.0 Card Reader (FCR-MLG4)
Fully recyclable packaging

Works on the following:
GoPro Hero 5 Session
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5
Samsung Galaxy S3, S4, S5, S7 and S8
Samsung Note 4
Microsoft Surface Pro 3

Tested with:

ATTO v2.47
CrystalDiskMark 5.1.2 (x64)
h2testw v1.4

4.0 out of 5 stars Good enough for any realistic use, but doesn't meet advertised specs
Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2017
Capacity: 1 PackVerified Purchase
Under ideal lab testing conditions (not real world use, which is always far lower):
Capacity: 238.4 GB
Read: 82.0 MB/s
Write: 74.1 MB/s

Advertised:
Capacity: 256 GB
Read: 95 MB/s
Write: 90 MB/s

The real R/W speeds, which, again, are under ideal conditions, not real world use, are still more than good enough for real time writing of 4K videos or anything else you could throw at it, but still not even close to the frankly unrealistic speeds that are advertised.

And this is just my personal ideology speaking, but this whole system of legal capacity reporting VS actual scientific capacity needs to stop. Advertising storage media at one capacity using a completely fake system for calculating capacity while the real capacity is much lower is unethical and wrong, but not one manufacturer seems to see anything wrong with the practice as long as all of the others continue to do it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Upgrade for my Surface Pro 3
Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2017
Capacity: 1 PackVerified Purchase
I bought this 256GB microSDXC card to replace a smaller slower 128GB card in my Surface Pro 3. I did it for the extra space but wanted better read and write speed. The new card worked exactly as expected. I keep all my files on the card and read and write to it constantly so the performance boost was very important. This card seems to be the perfect fit for my need. A faster, more expensive card would have been wasted money. I got the speed boost and the extra space I needed, should never need more speed or space in the future and a quality Samsung card for a very good price.

I am very happy with this memory card. I bought it to use with my Pono Player, and it works great. I am hoping that Samsung comes out with a 512 GB or 1 TB card before Christmas so I can upgrade my music collection. I have seen some off brands for cheaper, but when it comes to memory cards, I only trust a few. I have also seen a few auctions on eBay for this card at a greatly reduced price, but I am wary that they are not the real deal. The one I bought is genuine.

This card works well in my Samsung Galaxy S5, its nice to have a good amount of my audio files on my phone and still have a little room left for pics and vids!
I've had this thing in my phone since November of 2016 and have has zero issues with it, even though I have about 210gb of audio files on there the whole time.
I use my phone for audio (mostly flac files played through winamp) streamed to my 3 vehicles, as well as bt earbuds when I'm on a jobsite, never an issue even when the phone is roasting hot!

I ordered this from CTCStore, and it was fulfilled by Amazon. The price was $157, which is below the $199 MSRP that Samsung suggests, so I was a bit weary it was a fake. Sure enough tho, it's real.
The packaging all matched up, everything on the packaging was glossy and hi-res, no distortion. The packaging also said SDXC on the front and back, and the microSD card did as well. It comes with an SD adapter. The UPC on the packaging was 8806088 449258. The model says: MB-MC256D. Model code: MB-MC256DA/APC.
When I opened it, the microSD card itself says made in Korea.
I placed it in my Nintendo Switch, and it recognized it as having ~245GB usable.
Unfortunately I don't have any card reader or software to test the read/write performance, but I'm going 100% digital with Nintendo Switch, and the three games that I have downloaded and ran off of the microSD card so far haven't experienced any noticeable lag.

4.0 out of 5 stars The best hands down!

If you going to keep your new phone for a year or better then just man/woman up & get the best! I just used my Tmobile Jump program upgrade for the Galaxy S8 & I'm keeping it till the S9 so might as well put the best there is in it! And I been doing 4K videos & taking thousands of pictures over 20 full length movies on Google Play Movies, & Flixster downloaded on the phone all in 1080p. And my phone still flys like a hawk! No issues what so ever I'm sure it helps there both Samsung but I have friends with the G6 & this SD Card works great for them also. So big thumbs up & ya its expensive but so what!
