This actually works for hard water !

i live in apartment that has hard water. I know that reverse osmosis system works perfectly, but it’s not my place, so can’t install it. So, I almost had my hope down, and this was gonna be the last test. Then,,, it actually works ! Left one is after using Brita and right one is non-filtered. AMAZING !!

Second one I buy that's faulty

I bought the same pitcher twice and it was faulty both times. The first time, it broke down very soon after I bought it, and the second, the top lid would not close fully. I asked the customer service team to help me out but they are extremely slow and unresponsive. They would refer me from department to department until finally, I stopped receiving responses.

Filter replacements add up and need to be replaced too often. A bit too pricey. Water filter is great though and we use it everyday. I'm using one filter for every two months instead of replacing every month.

I live in the US and I could be wrong, but this pitcher I believe is normally sold in the UK. I specifically got this so I could get the Phox refillable insert since it's alot cheaper to refill those than to buy new filters each time, also better for the environment. The Brita filter itself worked great and lasted about 1 1/2 months before the water started to get a taste. I have hard water with lots of sediment. I will say I do prefer the taste of the Phox clean refills and the price for them as well. The pitcher itself seems super sturdy and every piece, including the handle, pops apart for easy cleaning. If dropped will it break? Empty, maybe not. With the weight of the water, probably. That's to be expected though with containers like this, and it definitely seems sturdier than other Brita pitchers I've owned in the past, especially the ones with partially detached handles(which I don't recommend as they always break).

Scrivo la recensione dopo 15 giorni di utilizzo della caraffa filtrante BRITA con i nuovi filtri MAXTRA+. All’inizio eravamo tutti molto scettici, soprattutto per la possibilità della caraffa di rendere bevibile l’acqua fornitaci del nostro servizio acquedotto che, dal punto di vista biochimico e batteriologico sarà pure potabile, ma in quanto a sapore ed odore è assolutamente disgustosa, a tale proposito allego le analisi fornite dal servizio stesso. A memoria d’uomo noi non abbiamo mai bevuto l’acqua “del rubinetto” e non l’abbiamo nemmeno mai usata per fare caffè o the, con conseguente carico obbligatorio di 3 pacchi di acqua minerale da 1,5 litri da trasportare ogni settimana (in estate anche 4).
La caraffa filtrante è stata una sorpresa ed una liberazione. L’acqua è buona, al pari di una minerale e forse, migliore di quelle economiche. Nei primi utilizzi, diciamo 5 o 6 pieni, probabilmente a causa della funzionalità piena del filtro rimane a mio personale avviso un po' troppo “liscia” e con pH leggermente più basso, dopo di che il gusto e la qualità rimangono costanti e più equilibrati.
Brita consiglia di effettuare due cicli a vuoto buttando l’acqua io ne ho fatti 4 innaffiando le piante e mi sono trovato bene.
Dopo 15 giorni di utilizzo il filtro è ancora perfetto, l’acqua scende un po' meno velocemente ma in 2/3 minuti la caraffa si riempie. La qualità è ancora costante. Il calcare praticamente assente, il gusto gradevolissimo. Non ci sono tracce di residui o polvere o muffe, il filtro non perde e quando si versa l’acqua quella filtrata e quella non filtrata non si mischiano.
Il filtro si aggancia alla perfezione e fa una'ottima tenuta anche la tenuta del coperchio è molto buona e quando si versa l'acqua il beccuccio si apre e si chiude automaticamente così non entra nulla nella caraffa.
Il modello scelto da noi è capiente ma non entra in frigorifero. L’abbiamo però messa in lavastoviglie senza problemi prima del primo utilizzo (solo la parte esterna ed il porta filtro blu, non il coperchio con l’indicatore LCD )
L’indicatore della capacità del filtro è un semplice conta tempo, si azzera quando si mette un nuovo filtro e quando le barrette sono arrivate alla fine si cambia il filtro. Non c’è correlazione con i litri trattati.
Conclusioni: l’acqua filtrata è molto buona, il risparmio rispetto alla minerale c’è ed è notevole, non si trasportano più pesi per le scale, meno plastica in giro da stoccare e poi riconferire con la differenziata, meno autotreni che viaggiano per trasportare l’acqua. Insomma, magari è una piccola cosa ma migliora la vita.
