Great Laptop. Update: STILL GOING STRONG!

Thoroughly enjoying mine, nice build quality, speakers solid, screen nice, fairly quick speed and battery life is good, I get about 4-6 hours with regular use: videos, web, charting, word, etc. no real fan issues, a little noise sometimes but still quiet at high speeds.

Overall nice machine and should last a while. Better than a Lenovo X1 2018 I had before that cost double the price.

UPDATE 10/16/19:
She's still going strong. I only use this computer for charting and trading so I don't put it through a ton of rigorous work but I do leave the screen on (as well as extended to a 32" monitor) for at least 5+ hours a day, 5 days a week. No issues whatsoever. The computer is always plugged into a power source so no real battery life testing. The few times I have used the battery power, it lasts probably 4-6 hours depending on your workload. I wish I bought one without a touchscreen as a never use this and with Windows, I really don't see why you would unless you have a stylus for notes or drawing. I wish I bought a 15" without a touchscreen but oh well.

Great machine for my use case.

Died after 1 year and 6 months. I loved the touch screen aspect and the long battery life. Used it mainly to write papers and research for my graduate projects. About 6 months ago it started to shut down and yesterday it wouldn't connect to the internet that all of other devices are easily connected on. All the while it is shutting down whenever it feels like it. Not worth it if you want it to die in less than 2 years.

I am a student, and also work, so I wanted a laptop to be able to do school work at home and on my work breaks. This laptop is perfect, as it is fast, great screen quality, quiet, lightweight, and not too big or small. I also like that it's touchscreen, though it's easier to use like a regular laptop. It did come dead on arrival, but that is not a big deal unless you have to use it the moment it arrives. The battery also lasts a very long time. Overall, I'm so glad I bought this laptop, and I think it's perfect for the general user.

Pros: Amazing build quality, it feels solid both in the hand and during use. Everything feels high-end, so the computer is a joy to use. Very good performance, no stuttering or lag issues during normal word processing and internet browsing even with many programs and tabs open. A beautiful screen with vibrant colours.

Cons: BIOS software update hung forcing me to open the back panel to reset the battery. A certain chip that received input from the power button was not properly insulated, so when the laptop was lightly bumped into the contacts on the chip touched the metal case, short-circuiting the power button and causing it to not turn on. Dell eventually managed to fix it and assured me that it was a one-off incident. Display is also not as bright as it could be, but it's generally fine unless you're using it outside under bright sunlight.

If something changes, I will update this review. But, I am 6 and a half hours into trying to set up this and an XPS 13 2-in-1. Both say they have Windows updates to make, and neither seems able to complete the updates … at … all. So, I have two pretty laptops that are basically useless. Even trying to ignore the updates and just get to web page took nearly a minute … to load Google! My 3+ year old Asus laptops are running on my network fine, so I can only conclude that it is the Dells that are the problem. I did not want to go Dell, as I have issues with them at work - but all the reviews of the XPS 13, here and across the internet, were all so good that I decided to take the plunge. As of this moment, I've never been so frustrated with a new computer ...

I was taking a risk, as I saw in one answer I saw there was a fingerprint reader. In fact, there IS a fingerprint reader for windows hello.

The machine was exactly as desribed, brand new with factory sealed parts and plastic.
TOUCHSCREEN 1920x1080! I love this, doesn't drain battery like the 4k model, but still have touchscreen

I probably shouldn't be writing a review since I'm not a maven on computers. All I know is that I miss having a CD/DVD drive that doesn't take up more space on my desk than my previous bigger laptop. It's ok, but I don't love it. The power button and the plugins seem to be in awkward places in my humble opinion.

Literally started my business from this computer, Not a heavily tech based/needed business but I absolutely love it. Went through 2 basic cheap $200-$300 laptops through and after college before this and wish I would have started here originally. Speed is great, battery life feels infinite at this point, and the touch screen is more accurate and more convenient than I thought it would be. The one and only draw back is not having a "finger-friendly numerical input" (phone digit 1-9 on the right side) but I'm sure that's due more to the size I purchased rather than the overall design. About 6 months in and I have yet to come upon a problem, and if so I'm sure Dell would take care of me. Definitely recommend to anyone in any situation.

I had a problem: the computer never turned on. I bought here and bring it with me to my home country: Argentina. Sadly Amazon was of no help because they refuse to pay the international postage for the item to process a refund. Thankfully, Dell costumer service responded very well and a technician came TO MY HOUSE and fix it. The computer had it motherboard fried. It was necessary to replace it. Thankfully for me, Dell did it for free under the guarantee.

The computer works very well. I totally recommend it, and the Dell costumer service was surprisingly good, at least in my case.
