I read all the reviews and decided to put down the cash for the 1030 bundle since I didn't have a heart rate monitor and just wanted to get everything I needed in one package. Installation, set-up, and connecting all the sensors went without any issue. All the sensors remained connected and it even calculated my wheel circumference when I started riding during the first mile because it uses your GPS speed and matches that to the wheel sensor rpm's and gave me as accurate a speed as if I had entered the actual wheel circumference myself--I was impressed with that feature! Another neat feature is that it will detect a crash and if it does, it will trigger a text/call to up to 3 emergency contacts that you can designate from your phone. For a guy that has had 2 really bad road crashes that required helicopter rides to a hospital for surgeries, I do like that feature. The Garmin software on the unit is very intricate and complicated, and allows the user to customize pretty much every aspect of every command and I would say that in order to achieve this, they have made the commands, menus, and submenus as intuitive and simple as possible; I have no complaints and love the fact that everything is highly customizable. My connected sensors include the rearview radar, front Varia headlight, hub mounted speed sensor, cadence, and heart rate strap and all work perfectly. The 3.5" touch screen is gorgeous, sharp, and you can customize the touch sensitivity from low, to medium, or high for each bike you ride. There isn't a feature on this that isn't awesome and works perfectly. It also connects not only to your phone via the Garmin app, but also to your WLAN at home so it makes software updates quick and painless. If you want a great product that will connect with everything from your power meter (I have an SRM on my road bike) to your Shimano Di2 shifters, I would spend the money and get the 1030!
