How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsFantastic computer
Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2018
I upgraded from a Dell Inspiron series 5000 to this one. I manage a large amount of data because of my work, and was looking for a 2TB computer with decent RAM and speed. This computer is beautiful. It runs fast and smoothly, the screen resolution is something that you will not be able to ever give up once you try it, I loaded tons of programs and applications and transferred the entire content of 3 computers on this one. Start-up is -so far- speedy. I was also very surprised by how light this computer is. My previous Dell 17.3'', 1TB was way heavier than this. This comes at the expenses of the CD drive, I guess, and of the Ethernet port, that are not present on this version, but it is well worth the sacrifice.
The only negative note is that Dell eliminated one of the USB port. I actually thought there were 3 based on the description, but there is only 2. I shall see how it runs with time, but so far I would highly recommend this computer to anyone who is looking for larger screen, speed, high resolution screen and a lot of memory.

After two years of updates it is tremendously slower and more annoying. I have reinstalled windows without any programs, even disabled unnecessary services and startups and still runs
Graphics and even startups up several times slower. The computer is great otherwise just SLOW as crazy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Customer Service!

The Intel wireless network adapter lost connectivity with WiFi-6 router after the device drivers were updated. However, the Customer Service rep (Logan) responded quickly on a Sunday evening with several questions to investigate the problem. We set-up a phone conference the next day where we were able to rollback the driver to the previous version, which resolved the problem! For now, the pc is back to running very well once again.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic Machine
Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2019

I use this computer for personal work. I barely use the touch screen as I am used to keyboard shortcuts. This is a very good machine comfortable to use because of the size and key stroke are short and soft. The backlit keyboard allows one to use it in dark places like travelling from / to airport in a cab. Despite the size it is relatively light weight. Power button is at the wrong place. At times it inadvertently gets pressed while adjusting the direction of the laptop and the machine switches off.

I really like how it folds into a large tablet that I can draw on. It has a great amount of memory and large hard drive and it's pretty fast. No complaints, it works great so far.

4.0 out of 5 stars Maybe I was expecting too much?
Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2019

To start, I will say this 2-in-1 does come with Intel Core I7 8th gen tech.
I'm a casual computer user, mainly using it for web surfing, business, radio programming (I'm a radio nerd), and other general-use activities. I am not a gamer. I used a Dell Inspirion for many years that had an i3 core and Windows 7 which was rock-solid and never gave me issues. I noticed it was beginning to slow down and get over-tasked with all the updates and the push for upgrading everything to Windows 10, which I had been fighting for years. I figured it was time to give in. I also have an 4th Gen iPad that is also showing its age and was considering buying a 6th gen. I just didn't use it that often so I was torn on where the money would be best spent. My wife, being as wise and reasonable as she is, convinced me I would be better served with a new laptop but to get a 2-in-1 like the Yoga she uses for work. I mulled it over a bit and eventually agreed that, in typical fashion, she was correct. After exhaustive research, the specs on this one looked good - i7 processor for good speed, adequate RAM, a 2TD HD and a tablet. The price was right as well so I pulled the trigger.
I think I was expecting a race car but with the bloatware and background apps running, it really wasn't any faster than my old Dell. Sure, on my Wi-Fi setup it had a smoking speed - 200+ MBs download on my 5GHZ network and 100+ on the regular, speeds my old laptop could not achieve - but it took too long to start up, was 'laggy' and there were times it would just completely stop responding while 'something' was running in the background. Very annoying. It works pretty well in tablet mode but, again, even starting a simple game like the pre-installed Candy Crush made the computer need to stop and think a bit before it would finally proceed. What the heck? On a side note here, I breifly thought about it before purchase but having a 17" tablet has pros and cons. Pro - I don't need to use my readers as everything is large and crystal clear. Cons? Well, it's huge and a bit cumbersome plus it weighs over 6 lbs so take that into consideration. As I type, I'm at my desk with a 24" LED screen plugged into the the HDMI port and a bluetooth speaker hooked up for sound.
Anyway, I'm on my third day of ownership and as I pull more bloatware (I'm looking at you McAfee) and nanny programs out, it runs better and better. Limiting the unnecessary start-up's is also speeding things up nicely. With some work, this 2-in-1 will become quite a nice laptop but you will need to do a little clean-up. I would recommed it but if your not the type who 'modifies' things, expect some annoyances. I was originally going to give it 3 stars just from the aggravation but as I use it more, I'm going to bump to 4.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Laptop
Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2018

I love this laptop. I use it primarily for photo and video editing. It runs lightworks and photoshop side by side like a charm. It does tend to run a little warm when its placed on cotton surfaced or when I'm using photoshop for hours on end so I purchased a laptop cooler. Haven't received it yet, but Im sure it will do the trick.

The only thing about this laptop that I wish was different was that the keys werent so spaced out and I with it had a dvd burner. But I knew both of these things before purchasing so I wasn't shocked when I received it.

I bought this a present for my daughter who is in High school and uses it every single. She loves it. It’s fast. The screen is bright, and she loves the touch screen and tablet mode. This is not the cheapest laptop on the market but to us the bells and whistles justify the cost

4.0 out of 5 stars Nearly unusable with hdd, wonderful now with ssd

Not laptop, big screen. Terribly slow and laggy. I hated using it until I replaced the hdd with an ssd. Now it's wonderful. The hard drives that come with these are unbearably slow. Either buy the ssd model, or do the upgrade yourself (very easy, I used free Macrium software to Clone to ssd and the rebooted. Free Easus wouldn't make a boot able cline with many tries).
