I purchased Case-Mate Iridescent gilded Glass Screen Protector for my iPhone 7 Plus. When received, the circular sticker that seals the plastic case was open, and when installed, instead of iridescent, the ends were a bright yellow gold. I purchased Case-Mate Pearl with Iridescent flecks iPhone 7 Plus case for my Jet-Black phone and am very pleased. I was happy to see there was a matching screen protector. The gold on the screen protector looked terrible with the silvery tones of the case. I returned the screen protector to Amazon, believing the Iridescent glass had been switched to a gold glass screen protector. I received the replacement yesterday. I cleaned the phone, installed as directed, and the glass is still not iridescent on the ends as shown on the packaging. The ends are a bright yellow gold. The protector did not install well. It had a large bubble caused by a speck on the glass. I tried to remove the speck, ended up with a glass screen protector that has 4 large circles under the protector and bright gold ends that clash with the silver of the pearl iridescent case. I am not pleased with this product and want to share the scope of inconvenience this expensive screen protector has caused me:
I removed a perfectly good new $7 glass screen protector to install this awesome $20 screen protector [ASIN:B01KNTS7FM Case-Mate Gilded Glass Screen Protector for iPhone 6 Plus & iPhone 7 Plus - Iridescent] that was not iridescent as described. I had to remove the $20 screen protector to return it to Amazon. My phone screen was then unprotected. I installed another perfectly good new $7 glass screen protector to protect the screen of my $1000 iPhone. I removed the beautifully installed $7 glass protector to install the replacement awesome $20 iridescent screen protector, to end up with a mottled, distorted screen with bright yellow ends that clash with the expensive pearl iridescent case. I have never felt such animosity for a product. I will not purchase or recommend this product to anyone. The package photo for iridescent glass is deceptive. The screen protector is expensive. I now must install a third $7 glass screen protector to protect my phone screen. The golden-end screen protector has cost me over $40 and I do not have the lovely matching iridescent glass screen protector pictured on the package. The attached photos show the Iridescent case on my jet-black iPhone, the “Iridescent” gold, mottled, and botched glass screen protector, and the package showing the Iridescent glass as it should look. The screen protector was difficult to photograph due to glare and mirroring but the gold color and defective installation are visible.I know I am responsible for the bad installation. This was the only bad installation out of the five recent screen protectors, and it is an expensive loss. Some companies have included sticky strips to remove dust particles. That might have helped prevent the circles but would not change the appearance of the gold color.
