5.0 out of 5 starsGreat Sound Quality
Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2021
It is one of the best sounding bluetooth headphones. Sounds very clear, a little bass heavy at times but listening to music with this is a pure joy. It does particularly well with motown and funk.

I also used it for watching movies. I have read in the review sites that there is a lag when watching movies. Fortunately, I have not experienced this. I think if you pair it with a bluetooth 5.0 device there is no noticeable lag.

Design wise they look really stylish. I got the navy blue one and I think looks better than the black option. Navy blue contrasts really well with the rose gold metal parts. When my wife saw the headphones for the first time, she thought that this looked really expensive. When I told her the price she could not believe it.

Features are decent, pairs fairly easy and you can switch between two devices. I dont need active noise cancelling (ANC) in general so I am not a good judge of that but it seems like it works well. The app is somewhat lackluster but there is nothing to complain about. Main controls are easy to use and intuitive. Battery life is also great you get a ton of listening time with one charge without activating the ANC.

Lastly, I liked these so much that I am planning to buy another one. For this price you can't get a better deal.

1.0 out of 5 starsLess than five months and it gave up...

I got these headset last April 13th and so far it was good (for a few weeks). Sound quality is just so-so, and I've read some reviews on the Internet saying that it's pretty decent. I use it mainly for work to replace my Plantronics Voyager Focus UC B825-M that gave up on me after 3 years of service. Thinking that they came from the same company, I was under the impression that the quality would somewhat be the same but price difference proved me wrong.

Plantronics is known for delivering good quality audio fitted for audio/video conferencing but I expected way too much on this as it was the other way around. Not only the sound quality was below my expectations, the build quality is composed of cheap plastic that will give up on you in less than 5 months of usage. As you can see on the pictures, the headband gave up pretty quick with normal usage of 2-3 hours daily, 2-3 times a week. For $50 this is just a waste of money, and I highly recommend veering away from this item. I should have read the other reviews in here and not just outside. Really disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great
Reviewed in the United States on March 28, 2021

I got these on sale for 40 bucks, and at that price I couldn't possibly recommend them enough. These sound really great for that price, long bass extension without being too boomy or overly loud, flat mids and present highs. It's essentially the exact sound I would want out of closed back headphones, everything is present and no one frequency stands out over the others. The sound leakage is really strong too, I can't hold a conversation while wearing these. The soundstage is really small, but that's kind of a given for headphones like these, and it's a good tradeoff in this case.

The big caveat to all that is that I've been treating them like wired, passive headphones. Some part of the bluetooth signal chain is pretty noisy inside these cans, it's alright for music when I just want to be wire free, but I always plug these in when I want to actually listen to my music. And the active noise cancellation isn't worthwhile, especially since they do such a good job without it.

I've only been using them for a little over three months, so I can't speak to the reliability of the build yet. They're holding up fine so far, but if they do fall apart I'll be sure to update this review.

Update -
After about nine months of use these headphones are just about shot. Great while they lasted, but they didn't last long enough. I'm happy I bought them for forty bucks, considering I happily used them for close to a thousand hours, but if you want something that's going to last, steer clear.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best value for noise cancellation!

I did a bunch of research on over the east head phones that were under 50$ and these always came up. I’m proud to say they were absolutely right. The noise cancellation is worth it by itself. The sound is really good not the best I’ve heard but great for the value. It does a great job with base and treble but isn’t as vivid with strings and piano instruments. Still worth it with out a doubt. These have been great at holding me over until I chose to upgrade to the top tier(Sony) ones. You won’t be disappointed.

JW
3.0 out of 5 stars Great battery, good comfort, decent sound, mediocre ANC, suspect build quality, poor EQ
Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2021
Verified Purchase
First things first, the battery on this is impressive, easily lasting days of semi-frequent use on a full charge. This really helps a lot with the portable, ready-to-use nature of these headphones. This is complemented by a pair of very comfortable memory foam earpads and a relatively light design that make these very easy to pick up and enjoy at any time. The sound quality isn't bad for Bluetooth headphones, definitely nothing to write home about though. You won't pick up small details in the sound or be impressed by any technicalities, but it does the job with no obvious flaws. Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) has two modes, a minor option for the office, and a major option for the airport, but realistically it has just the major option. The minor ANC is almost imperceptible. Build quality on these is a step back for sure, these headphones will take any opportunity to advertise their cheap plastic construction by creaking. Finally, the EQ options in the companion app may as well be nonexistent. There's just a bloated bass EQ and a somewhat less bloated bass EQ. The real EQ option is turning on ANC, which alleviates much of the bass bloat, but sucks up more battery. User customization for EQ would be very helpful to non-bassheads.

2.0 out of 5 stars Headband is made with defective plastic
Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2023

Sound quality is good. Bluetooth works perfectly. Material quality is lacking. After very light, occasional use (I'm talking probably 30 days total over 2 years) only at my desk, the head band has cracked and is falling apart. They fit well until they broke, and I kept them fit properly if not a little loose. After having the issue, I see it's a common problem. It appears to be a defective material selection and they should have been recalled and replaced. I have not put mine under stress. The room is an even temperature around 63 degrees all year. I haven't taken them outside. Since mine sat in the drawer most of the time (purchased in 2020) the warranty will not help. I don't see a band replacement option, so the lifespan of this headset is far less than I hoped for and disappointing, especially because I like the sound and electronics quality otherwise. I'll probably see how duct tape works on these and steer clear of Plantronics in the future.

Really happy with this item. No issues whatsoever. The only thing I will add is that I wish it comes with a hard cover.

Sound quality is really good, battery life is amazing, and it looks really cool too. Feels quite strong and does not slip off my head when the band is not extended.

2.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THESE! rtings.com must have been having an off day - these are AWFUL.
Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2021

Let's get the important part out of the way: at best, these sound average. At $50, these are shrug worthy - and I think that's being a tad generous. Given these launched a couple of years ago for $150, these are absolutely dreadful. I trust rtings.com for TV/Monitor reviews, but after this purchase I'm not going to bother checking them out for audio reviews. They rated these very highly on sound quality reproduction, and I find these to be quiet and extremely flat. The BackBeat 810s sound like any $30-50 pair of off-brand headphones you'd pick up. It boggles the mind.

Bluetooth audio from my Note9 tends to feel too quiet to me in general, but these are even quieter than either my earbuds (Tribit FlyBuds 3) or my over-ears (Turtle Beach i60). Maxing out the audio on my Note9 and on the GO 810s, they were about 2/3 the volume I would want for regular listening and half the volume I'd want for brief, higher volume sessions of "rocking out".

Wired is a little better in SOME scenarios. I tried plugging them in wired as well, as if they sounded as good wired as rtings.com was making them out to be then I would have probably kept them. On my Note9 and Galaxy Tab A, again, these were way too quiet. And this plays into audio quality, as there is almost no low end to speak of in these cans - the drivers simply aren't allowed enough juice to be pumped. When I plugged these into my Onkyo receiver the sound improved some, given I was able to increase the volume enough to force the amplifier in the GO 810s to actually push the drivers a little. It requires about 15-20% more volume to drive these comfortable compared to either my Turtle Beach i60s or my wired-only JBL Synchros S500s.

Sound quality wise, they sound better than when used over bluetooth. But compared to even the Turtle Beach i60, primarily a PC gaming headset, the GO 810s were harsher on the highs and muddier on the lows. Forget about even trying to compare these to the JBLs - the gulf in sound quality is too wide, the 810s just fall on their face in comparison. These are irredeemable from a sound quality perspective.

It's other qualities aren't great either - the ANC feels imperceptible, though I wasn't able to try it in the noisiest of environments. It might be OK, but I wasn't willing to put in the time to thoroughly put it through its paces when the audio was so bad. The app is incredibly basic, not allowing you to control the EQ in any meaningful way - you can swap between two EQ profiles: 1 which is flat and lifeless, and the other which removes even more bass and brightens highs far past "sparkly" and straight into "extremely harsh" territory.

Adding insult to injury, these have poor quality headbands. I knew about this and had bought a warranty to cover the headphones in case the audio quality dazzled me enough to keep them. Needless to say, these are going back today. DO NOT BUY THESE! They are fragile, they sound terrible, and none of the extra features are anything better than average. Not much else to say. Though if you are a rtings.com fan like I am...I guess consider ignoring their audio ratings completely. I have no idea what's going on over on that side of things, but if these get high marks they must be used to testing no-name, $0.50 pack-in freebie earbuds or something.

Bottom line: these are a bad buy at $50, would have been highway robbery at their $150 launch price. Avoid like the plague.

I liked these headphones a lot, so imagine my surprise to see the 50% price increase. They were worth the $51 price in 2021. Unless the price decreases, you can find better headphones at a lower price elsewhere.
