Been using this phone since Sept 2019. Previous phone was the original Zforce. I like the battery life, lasts the whole day with normal usage, heavy usage needs a charge later in the evening. Feels good in my hand without mods attached. Mods don't fit well and even the plain shell feels uncomfortable. Screen looks good and quality is good. If you're coming from either the original Z or the Z2 you'll notice it's slower but it's not 'deal breaker' slow. The camera is an improvement, but no one buys a moto for the camera. The fingerprint reader is awful. I've tried it both with and without a screen protector and more than half the time it can't read any of the fingers I've scanned. I was hoping it was user error and rescanned all my fingers and still it consistently fails. I finally deleted all my prints and now I'm using face unlock and pattern unlock. The speaker is weak and tinny, so no improvement from my previous phone. The most annoying thing is you can't control the ring volume from the volume bar. Instead it controls media volume which makes no sense at all. Also, the swipe down from the top settings are missing location on/off. Clearing call history takes 5 steps instead of 2. May seem nit picky, but little things like that become an annoyance instead of a convenience. I find this phone much less user friendly and convenient to use, but Moto/Lenovo is consistent in removing features their customers like. The day they get rid of Moto actions is the day I stop buying their phones. Overall, the price point makes the phone attractive if you enjoy Moto actions and have mods you still enjoy using.
