I'm logging 10-15K meters per day and wanted a little more cushion under my butt... this had the cushion, but I had to return it because it was not right for me... the quality is good, and it fit perfectly on the seat, but it just wasn't good for me.

I bought this seat cushion to give me a little more cush for my tush in the coxswain seat of our Masters 8+ rowing shell. I'm a little "hippier" than most coxswains and need the height and padding to fit into the horribly designed seat. This exceeded my expectations, as it stays out of the way of the steering cables and the memory foam has greatly alleviated sciatica and numbness that comes from coxing an often un-set boat. SUPER in love with my special butt pad! The straps that it has (I guess to strap it to the erg seat) are great for slinging over my arm to carry it hands-free down to the dock. It does absorb quite a bit of water, so I just leave it out on the deck in the sun after practice. Ideally, I'll find a good waterproof pouch for it so the salt water doesn't degrade the foam, but otherwise, it's great.

Fits our NordicTrack rower seat pretty alright. Has taken some of the hard pain out of the workouts. Beforehand we were experiencing a pain in our tail bones, but my wife and I now only have post workout aches, cause you know... gains. Good comfort and value for money.

The only thing I dislike, when we fold up the NordicTrack to store away the seatpad falls off. If you are going to leave your station down at all times or have a unit that doesn't fold up, this won't be an issue. As it stands, this is minor annoyance and not any reason to avoid purchase. Just something to be aware of prior.

This is a nice seat, it really helps being able to withstand being on the bike for long periods of time and I'm not a small guy I'm about 350.

If you have a bike similar to mine this will really help you out and I don't feel so small when you're on it it doesn't squish down as much as you would think and when you get up it pops right back to the same position I approved of this purchase.

I have a disease that causes severe joint damage and as a result, I have been a wheelchair user for many years. I love my rowing machine, because it has been adapted to work for me and I can do it sitting down. Unfortunately, I have really poor muscle tone in my bottom because I don't walk and I need special cushions to sit on. The one that I had mounted to my rower was special order, but it needed to be replaced. I wasn't thrilled about shelling out the money for another medical grade one so I decided to give this one a shot. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it has worked. It's not quite hospital grade, but it's very close. It also has some features that are not on my medical one. The straps are perfect for strapping it to the seat and can adjust to whatever size is needed. It's much more convenient than having to tape it down or risking it slipping around. I also appreciate the tailbone cut out. It reduces the pressure on it, but it also helps with air circulation. I realize that I have special needs that most people don't need to worry about, but if it works for my princess and the pea bottom then I have no doubt it would work for a regular person.

A Must-Have For Your Rower

I got this for my rower because the seat is a hard plastic and there was no way I could row for any length of time sitting on that hard seat. This cushion is perfect for relieving pressure and is very comfortable. The gel cushion and gripping feature allows it to stay in place with all the movement of the rowing action. It's comfortable but stable. The only drawback would be the straps do loosen somewhat over time but not so much that the cushion comes off the seat. I definitely can't row without it.

I'm an experienced user of the Concept 2 RowErg, having owned mine since 2005. I have a Model D. The seat can be uncomfortable on long rows, and I have tried many solutions, finally settling on a round couch pillow. I decided to take the plunge and try this memory foam "pillow", and when I received it, I didn't even want to take the cellophane off: it appeared too big, too thick. I sat on it on the rower in its packaging, seemed too thick! Ugh!

Then, I decided that all these great reviews, maybe there's something to it. It's not inexpensive, but I took some faith and took it out of the package, and realized that the tight packaging itself keeps it on the thick side (It cannot flatten effectively). The straps stay on the machine well, and the cushion does not move as I row (it is slightly "sticky" on the bottom to prevent sliding).

The key is that it does flatten out and provides cushioning, and is not too high or tall for my tastes. I did not have to alter my stroke at all. It is definitely better than my couch pillow. 😃. I can row with much less pain now. Note that I am 175 pounds, so your mileage may vary. I will update if it has lousy durability, but so far so good (but its only been a month).

Update: it’s been approx 2.5 months with this pad, and I use it approx 21 days per month for 30 minute sessions. The pad is losing its “loft”. It is developing a distinct “tractor seat” contour and I’m beginning to experience pain at about 25 minutes into my workout, whereas I had no pain at all until recently. The pad material is now compressing in the middle and losing its memory for returning to neutral. I’ve tried flipping it (putting the straps on top, under my backside), no help bc the thickness of the middle is simply reduced due to compression. And I’m not a heavy guy, and not an aggressive rower. Disappointing. Next I will place a folded bath towel beneath the pad to see if it will regain some pain relief.

I'm a senior, 5'9", 250# guy and this pad is really a bit too small for my butt. Sure, I could have carefully read the specs (assuming they got the measurements right) and then "checked" to see if this was a good "fit" for my intended use. So I just checked the specs: 9 x 13 inches, but its really closer to 12 3/8 inches wide. But...

I use this to supplement a rower seat that's too thin/soft for me. This pad's firm enough. I like the adjustable elastic straps that fit well over the existing rower seat (this pad is smaller that the old seat). But it's hard to get "complete" coverage for my derriere. This makes me think that this was targeted for (smaller) women or small men. As I said, I'm only 5'9" and in spite of my (excess) weight, my derriere is smaller than most my weight (due to "good" distribution). But, since I'm lazy (part of the reason for my weight) and I waited too long to return it (not to mention that I "recycled" all the packaging the day I got this), I never returned it.

So now, my butt has to suffer. Sorry, butt.
